COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hopulent IPA is a big beer with lots of complex malt flavor and excessive hops. This beer will have changes to the grain bill and seasonal hop changes. The character of Hopulent IPA is over the top, too much of everything—a real HOP HEADS DELIGHT!

(Release #13; 8.6% ABV) This starts off with an amazingly delicious hop aroma, with strong pine notes. Pours a clear light amber, with a full white head that leaves good lacing on the sides of the glass. Nice balance, even with the strong hop presence. There’s a nice blast of hops, then it fades to showcase the malts, and finishes with a long bitter finish. This is a good IIPA, and I’m glad that Epic made it to Cleveland.

Release #101, bomber. Appearance: finger off-white head, good lacing, golden color, clear, Aroma: pine, grapefruit, light floral, light caramel. Palate: medium body, bitter finish, sticky texture, average carbonation. Taste: sweet caramel and malt, light sweet floral, into nice hoppy pine bitterness that lasts. Overall, balance is very good for the strong pine bitter, great aroma, very good beer.

Bomber - Orange gold in color with a soapy thick head and lacing. Has an earthy hop flavor and somewhat grainy. Also has some pine and grapefruit peel. The alcohol is well hidden. Decent.

Salmoniform (648) - Sweet Home, Oregon, USA - SEP 10, 2014
Poured from tap to glass. Hazy orange hue with creamy white head that dissipated to a ring. Aroma is melon, papaya, mango, tangerine, grapefruit. Mouthfeel is ok with a medium body and soft carbonation. Taste is sweet initially followed by a nice hop bitterness that extends through the finish. Overall this beer has good elements but could benefit from a more crisp carbonation volume.

Sweet, citrus aroma. Flavors of crisp fruit, especially orange and apple, caramel, lightly toasted grains, resin and pine. Notes of citrus peel and faint peppercorns. Bitter hops balance the sweetness. Very well crafted beer.

Bottle from Total Wine Summerlin. Hazy yellow pour with some yeasties. Aroma of citrus hops, slightly floral, quite fruity, with some spices and a hint of sweaty socks. Flavor is quite bitter, spicy and fruity. Some nectarine and plum in the body. Thick and a bit rough but quite nice.

Nitro tap at Bearded Lady. Pours a clear light orange color with a creamy, foamy head. Aroma is fresh hops, drippy resin, sap, pine needles and more hops. Creamy mouthfeel. Flavor is lightly hopped, some citrus grapefruit notes but also has some dusty elements. Creamy from the nitro. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bomber purchased at the Escondido BevMo ($6.39). Pours a hazy sunset-orange hue with two fingers of off-white foam. AROMA of caramel, pine/spruce, wet grains, and some mellowed-out citrus. FLAVOR of sweet-ish caramel malts, pine sap, dank citrus, with some noticeable booze. Malty-sweet but finishes with moderate bitterness and a bit more of the aforementioned alcohol. I may have let this sit too long before drinking as it is still hoppy but starting to get some barleywine-like notes as well. An okay malt-forward DIPA. (438, 896)

(On tap/nitro at Penn Commons) Very cloudy orange body with a creamy off-white head. Aroma of orange, pine hops--not very strong aroma. Flavor is resiny, pine, orange; moderate alcohol. Medium to thick body, velvety; creamy nitro head.
