This tawny-orange ale immediately assults the senses with the character of hops from the Pacific Northwest. An aroma that combines grapefruit pith and pine resin foreshadows a strongly bitter beer. The flavor is spicy and juicy with citrus dominating over honey and floral notes, then giving way to a dry, chalky bitterness. The almost sweet finish is accentuated by the strength of the alcohol.

This is truly what I look for in a IPA. Huge hops with citrus tones, with the bitterness that lingers. That kick in the end that adds a touch if sweet. Love it! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap at Denver - a pretty abrasive, garlicky, soapy, bitter beer, even for the style - underlying, clean sweetness tries to balance, but it’s really the hop flavor, not the bitterness, that makes this hard to enjoy - Epic seems to most often favor hop profiles that impart a lot of sprouted garlic and other off flavors - Some of their hoppy beers I like, but many I do not - this is one of the later.

Floral and citrus smell and the mouth feel is sharp, but it hits on the borders of your tongue and taste a lot like the smell. Doesn’t taste boozey at all.

On tap at denver taphouse. Pours a clear goldenrod color. Aroma is piney grapefruit. Flavor is grapefruit, resiny hops, not too syrupy, but the booze lurks ominously.

Shared bomber,(not sure of the release #) poured to snifters showing a clear, orangey amber color, with a light, bubbly layer of film on presentation, and dots & dashes of lacing. The aroma was alcohol presence, plus citrus, pit fruit, and piney resin. Ditto on the taste, with a medium body, soft carbonation, warming to boozy alcohol, strong, earthy & rindy hop bitterness, and a sharp, lingering & finishing astringency that didn’t produce a huge fan.

Pours a fairly light golden color with a medium head. Aroma is light citrus with malts and a hefty amount of hops. Flavor is mostly roasted malt and intense hops. Warm in character. Palate is malt with a distinct hop finish that dissipates fast. Warm roasted finish.

piney nose with some citrus, nice head retention, good lacing, cloudy appearance, very well balanced, alcohol well hidden, would actively look for this again!

Grain silo smell, horrendous. The flavor is better. It is pretty acidic, large malt backing, citrus, pine, lingering medium bitterness. Thick and boozy palate. Not a bad flavor but not a good beer.

The aroma is hops - citrus/floral. Pours a cloudy golden copper with a frothy white head mostly diminishing with excellent lacing. The taste is bitter. The body is medium, the texture creamy, the carbonation lively and the finish bitter and long. Very Good.

22 oz bottle from Evergreen Discount (Release #29, 9.3%) into my NBB globe glass. Amber and hazy with a sticky, off-white head. Aroma is bitter hops, pine, floral, toasted malts, light citrus and alcohol. Similar flavor, strong and bitter with little malt sweetness. Medium body with a dry, bitter and lingering finish.
