3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz. bottle from Root Cellar. Release #3. Pours a deep brown, not quite opaque, with a tiny beige head that dissipates immediately and amber highlights around the sides. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, caramel, earthy roast, and faint char. The flavor hits the same slate of notes; rich, roasty flavor. Light-medium bodied, probably thinned over the past couple years, with a smooth, roasty mouthfeel. Good imperial stout.

Batch#10. Very dark pour. Fantastic flavor. Smooth, nutty imperial flavor with a balanced bite. Doesn't taste like a beer with 10+% alcohol.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Itís somewhat bland. There is a lack of flavor in terms of boldness in any characteristic. The matliness gives a slight cereal tast. It has somewhat of a doughy aspect to it. Definite hints of banana and woodsy describe the beer well.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
This beer had a better flavor than the big bad baptist, but the mouthfeel wasnít quite as good. An excellent beer on a cold night camping in Zion.

A very good imperial stout. But no aroma it needs to be baptized I guess. No head okay mouthfeel.
