From the State Liquor Store in Salt Lake City brought back by my brother Rick on a recent trip. Pours pretty much an opaque black with a robust tan head and excellent lacing. The nose is chocolate roasted malts with a little coffee as well Body is between medium and full and the mouthfeel is creamy and alcoholic. The flavor is rich roasted malts showing lost of dark chocolate, coffee and bittering hops right through the dry finish. Except for the alcohol burn this is darn near perfect. Good drinking.

Sampled at Slutfest 3. Dark brown near black pour with ring of tan head. Very delicous. Good roastiness and chocolate and and vanilla. good example of the style I’d say.

Pours a solid black with a light tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, some coffee, and some liqueur. Flavour of roasted malts, toasted nuts, light campfire, and some booziness. Roasted and full bodied. Yum.

Bottle. Dark black/brown pour. Roasted malt, coffee, bitter chocolate aroma and flavors. A good stout, but not a great stout.

22oz bottle, seen some interesting things from Epic .. . deep brown black .. good amount of foam .. . stoke wheather .. . burnt chocolate and light tar .. . pretty nice stuff, could be thicker i guess .. . . Thank you. I bear many receipts for reimbursement.

Dark pour with a thick, brown head. Chocolate and roasted coffee flavors to accompany the aroma. Finishes a little strong, but, overall, a wonderful, rare treat for breakfast or dessert or a whole meal of food (for meal serving, simply double or triple the recipe).

22 oz. bottle shared by Tmoney99. Pours dark brown to black with a small beige head. The aroma had creamy chocolate, roasted malts, light coffee and ash. The flavor had more roast than the nose, char, dark chocolate, black coffee with decent bitterness to the finish. Medium plus body, dry and fairly smooth.

Nephilium (1326) - Ohio, USA - DEC 28, 2011
(Release #3; ABV 9.1%) This begins with a mild roasty aroma, and pours an opaque pitch black with a full dark tan head. The flavor is predominantly roasted notes, with a touch of heat from the alcohol. The finish is long, and filled with coffee notes. This is a quite good Imperial Stout, I’d be curious to see how it holds up over a couple of years.

Ernest (6162) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - DEC 21, 2011
Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, brown, mostly diminishing. Body is almost opaque black (flashlight tested). Aroma is moderately to heavily malty (chocolate, roasted grain), lightly hoppy (flowers), with notes of vanilla and blackberry. Flavor is heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter, slightly husky. Medium to full body, creamy texture, lively carbonation, moderately alcoholic. Straightforward and overly sweet, but pretty decent. Nice berry undertones.

22 oz. bottle, split with Matts_Property, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of medium roast, espresso and some chalk. Flavour is very roasty with a high hop presence, some sweet chocolate malts and some booze on the finish. Medium complexity with a roasty, chocolatey, boozy finish. Very good.
