UPDATED: JAN 5, 2012 500ml bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours a crystal clear straw colour with a two finger white head that quickly dissapears. Aroma is fairly average. Hay, earth, citrus. Flavour is bursting with citrus and honey. Palate is thin. Easy drinkability. Not bad for a quaffer

330ml bottle. Deep crown of loosely packed white foam from the initial pour. Bright golden amber colour and the aroma is fairly light but it does pack some citrus hop aromas. Flavour is smooth and mellow and quite light on the palate. Finishes cleanly with but does not really stand out.

500ml bottle. Pale gold with an inch of loose white head that fades rapidly. Earth, sharp citrus, hay aroma. Taste is sweet and grainy with decent bitterness. Quite mouthfilling with tingling citrus. I liked it more as I had more. It’s not really trying to do anything different but it does the golden lager thing very well.

330mL Bottle. Pours straw yellow with fluffy white head. Aromas are of straw, floral/spicey hops and oats. Flavours: Sweet malt with a hint of grassy hop resin. Well structured. Clean, bitter finish. Very, very good for a lager.

500 ml bottle from Friar Tuck in Fenton. Pours a pale yellow color, completely clear, with a fizzy white head. Aroma of grassy and herbal hops, straw, wheatgrass, and barley malts. Flavor follows suit closely. Light-bodied, with a grassy mouthfeel and high, crisp carbonation. Very dry throughout and on the finish. Great hop character- fresh, crisp, and herbal. I’m surprised to see how much other Americans are buying this for; at one of the notoriously highest-priced stores in the St. Louis area, it was about $5. Well worth it, too, as it’s the best pale lager I’ve ever had. New Zealand, you’ve done it again.
