4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 thirstystirrer (15) - , - FEB 26, 2009
Have tried this on tap at The Malthouse in Wellington and in bottles from Regional- Great ’intro’ beer for those new to the world of craft lager. Bright lemony straw colour with good head retention. Floral tones with a hint of cirtrus and herb, which while flavour packed is not overbearing. To be honest, I didnt enjoy this much at first however... the crisp, clean finish keeps bringing you back for another- pretty much a regular feature in my fridge now as my uninspired Becks and Stella drinking mates can handle the transition to this easier than with many other beers of this style.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Pyobon (518) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - FEB 11, 2012
(500ml bottle) Poured clear pale amber with nice off-white head. Nice but subtle aroma from the hops - floral, pineapple. Medium body with good carbonation. Hops dominate the flavour from start to finish. There’s very little else left in the flavour except at the start perhaps some lemony notes. However the hop flavours do evolve, ending with a good assertive bitterness that is not very long lasting. Overall a very hop dominated beer and somewhat unbalanced, but still very drinkable.

Bottle. Pours a weak, watered- down yellow with a nose of aspartame and peach with a light oily hops presence. Flavor is orange hops with a touch of earthy malt sweetened by a light peach. Average mouthfeel. Good lawnmower beer, I’m sure.
4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 wlajwl (1476) - Iowa, USA - DEC 29, 2011
The aroma is bread and hops. The flavor is bready with a good hoppiness to it that leads into a dry and lingeringly bitter finish. If this is considered a pale lager, which I wonder about because its so hoppy, this is the best I’ve ever had.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 KapitiCritique (312) - Leawood, Kansas, USA - DEC 5, 2011
Pours polished pale yellow, mediocre head - I usually pour straight down to get what is there but this was not all that excited to be there - and mediocre lacing; the hype - bursting with hop-fueled taste? These guys brew Mayhem and Armageddon. Who do they think they are kidding? OK, not wild. Tart-ish and sem-dry; nose has hints of fruit and earth; medium body and slightly oily
Mayhem and Armageddon are hard acts to follow - especially in the IIPA starved desolation of the Long-ish White Cloud. But this is a decent Pale Lager. I’d call it a good session beer - there are trains home and lots of taxis
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 MelbBrewersJD (39) - AUSTRALIA - OCT 13, 2011
Pours clean and clear. Nice head...doesn’t linger long though. Nice noble hop aroma. Taste is very malty and brady but the bitterness lingers just a touch...hangs around on the pallete. A nice beer but I prefer my lagers to demand me to take another swig. This does not do that. A tasty beer though.

Bottle 330ml at the Courthouse. Pretty good for a pale lager. Aromas of wet leaves, with hints of citrus. Taste starts sweet, with bitterness taking over for a long finish. Palate is oily, and medium bodied. Yellow, with a thin head.

Not a great beer by any stretch but very good for a lager, and perhaps the best of the sty;e I’ve ever had. Not hoppy but the presence is felt. Very good balance throughout and the mild sweet malt edge is nice.

Another long distance for a beer to arrive at my mouth. Nice lager but not much better than a Yuengling. Pours a clear yellow with a mild bread and malt aroma. The flavor has the malt and bread of a lager with a nice hop balance. Not bad but not worth the money.
