COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We have set out to wilfully maim and cripple the palates of the most extreme hop head. This act of wanton destruction is in the true spirit of what festive brews are about, to create something unique and fun. It is our intention to create a violent and needless disturbance in your olfactory senses. The riotous confusion, from the unnatural quantity of dry hopping, will leave your palate satisfyingly violated after having just one taste. Only the brave can be assured to tame this hop insanity.

From a 500ml bottle on 20/11/2010. Has a pronounced and powerful fruit, floral and pine hop aroma, not dissimilar to some of hope monster IPAs from the US. The hops are a touch more subdued in the flavour, though there’s still plenty to be enjoyed. This has a lovely balance of caramel and citrus fruit sweetness and slightly spicy bitterness, which lingers for ages. Don’t know why this is tagged as an American srong ale on here, as it’s more of an IPA. An excellent beer.

orange with large white head. floral and citrus hop nose. moderate to high carbonation. firm bitterness before citrus hops and a moderate amount of low crystal sweetness. a fair amount of residual sweetness to the finish. I would classify it as an east coast IPA and a decent version, likely better when it’s fresher

(500ml bottle thanks to blutt59) clear gold with soapy edge bubbles. Nose of citrus, rhubarb, spicy, and orange marmalade. Taste of spicy white pepper, rhubarb, umami, onions. Very odd beer.

Thanks to blutt59 for sharing this bottle. The beer pours an orangish-yellow color with a large white head. The aroma is very fruity with a lot of orange and grapefruit notes, as well as some toffee and yeast notes. The flavor is toffee, orange citrus, apples and grapefruit. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. A very nice beer filled with a ton of tropical fruit.

Pours copper with off-white head. Aromas are a nice mix of floral, spicy and grapefruit/pineapple hops with nice, caramel, toffee and nutty malt. The malt/hop balance in this beer is very nice on the palate. This is my favourite Epic beer, purely because the malt sweetness and hop flavours/bitterness are in perfect balance. Amazing brew!

Pours orange/amber with a creamy lasting head leaving lots of lacing. Nose shows lots of tropical fruit, grapefruit, orange blossom. I’m guessing there’s a fair bit of Nelson Sauvin in this from the passion-fruit as well. Malt is certainly not forgotten , lots of sweet clean crystal. Very nice! The malt is stronger as a flavour with some toasty notes joining the sweet caramel. Similar hop character as in the aroma, but with more grapefruit and pine. Finishes quite sweet but with a matching bold bitterness. Creamy carbonation, not too high, slick syrupy mouthfeel, awesome!

Not to nitpick about style, but can a beer that’s only 6% be considered a strong ale? Really? Anyway, very gushy on opening, then pours golden brown with a huge foamy head. Pine cone and lightly sweet aroma. Flavor is a nice mix of citrus and sweet, with a dryish finish. Tasty. Maybe not $9.75 tasty, but enjoyable.

500ml bottle. another great hop bomb from Epic. as soon as you crack it, the grassy hop aroma hits you, then again after the pour. a sweet malt backs it, but dominated by the grassy and piney hops, with a hint of citrus. very easy to drink. get it every time i see it, but apparently havent rated it before.
