A perfect beverage to relax with after a long day on the slopes, this extremely pleasant to drink ale has very minimal hop addition. The delicate Mt. Hood hops give it a smooth body with a bit of nuttiness and a slightly sweet malt at the end. This sessionable ale has some wonderful vanilla and honey notes that are well balanced throughout the drink.

I find this disappointing for the abv it should have more flavor and aroma. If this was 3.5 percent and had all the flavor and such I would be okay. But this is to high gravity for a mild. Nice head. Honey like flavors. Nutty. Average in general. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Caramel malt and hay aroma. Hazy amber with small head. Sweet light chocolate caramel malt and straw flavor. Palate a bit watery. Doesn’t look like a typical mild but tastes okay.

On tap at the Denver brewery. Light amber and pretty clear appearance with a white head. Mild aroma of nutty malts, light caramel/toffee, honey and light vanilla. Similar flavor, smooth, malty and easy to drink. Light bodied with average carbonation and an abrupt finish. Nicely done.

On draft. Certainly is mild. Everything, malts, hops, everything is hushed. A hint of sweetness, a bit of vanilla. Little else.

4 oz at High Plains Tap House. Light orange...a bit cloudy. Great malt aroma! Great mouthfeel. Slight roasty/bready/nutty with a hit of darker fruit but not plum or raisin. Very enjoyable - exactly what I look for and desire in a mild.

UPDATED: MAR 20, 2014 Pint at Euclid Hall. Pours cloudy copper with a huge white head. Aroma is muted with earth, tiny roast and far off metallic hints. Body is medium light. The flavor is predominantly malty with hints at earth, distant fruits, gentle Euro hop bite and a grainy finish. Decent enough.

UPDATED: APR 23, 2014 Draft. Pours a medium, well retained light ivory head, with slight lacing, over a slightly hazy dark amber (SRM 15) body.....nose is cereal, light taste, biscuit, no esters, very minimal hop tones.....taste is dry, with moderate light roast malts, with toast, biscuit tones, mild to moderately bitter o the finish, tiny bit of sour as it warms.....mouth feel, light of medium body, no astringency, slight tingle from carbonation. This has a relatively high, not unheard of ABV for the style, and really could use more dark roasted malts to increase the cocoa, chocolate, coffee type tones in both aroma and flavor. BJCP 7/3/10/4/6 651 ml. bottle. Pours a thick well retained, off white head, over a slightly hazy dark amber (SRM 15) body......nose is light toasted malts with biscuit, toast, cereal tones, minimal hops and esters.....taste is sweet, with light cereal malts, no esters, minimal hop flavors or bitterness.....mouth feel, light body, no alcohol, minimal carbonation. This misses the style almost totally, is boring and needs an almost complete re-work of the recipe. BJCP 5/2/9/3/5

Bottle @ home, picked up at Epic’s taproom in Denver. Pours a hazy dark orange appearance with a foamy off white head. Aroma is somewhat grassy / earthy. There’s some nuttiness to it as well. Kind of doughy. Decent body. Maybe just a hint of butterscotch in the flavor. Doughy / caramel / a touch sweet malty flavor. Short aftertaste. Not all that impressive but not a poor showing.
