COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
You can only drink so many beers in a lifetime, so you better make each one count. Thatís where we can help. Because at Epic weíre obsessed with creating big hop-fuelled beers. This takes a shed-load of skill. It also takes a shed-load of hops. In fact there are 15 crammed into this bottle. Many brewers would call that insane. We call it flavour.

Not an unpleasant beer per se. Just not overly well balanced. Typically lovely NZ PA aroma of citrus fruit. Amber with white lasting head. Overly bitter, without the malty body to back it up. A one beer, beer (not sessionable). Itís become a kiwi classic, I just donít get it with nearly all the other Epic beers running rings around it.

On tap at Brew on Quay. Serve a deep copper color with a decent head that fades to some lacing. Aroma of some pine and citrus with a bit of malt sweetness and fresh grain. Taste of citrus and mild malt sweetnbess with a bit of fruit. Nice bitterness and a clean finish. Medium body, crisp, somewhat creamy with a rich flavor. Nicely balanced. Very enjoyable beer. Well worth checking out.

330mL bottle from Plonk. Darkish-amber, fantastic pine/grapefruit/floral hop aroma and flavour. One of the best APAs Iíve had.

UPDATED: MAR 31, 2013 Re-rate: I was a tad harsh on this before, I found all the previous bottles to be very timid in aroma and taste. The bottle Iím drinking right now is much better. Everything is a lot fresher and zingier. I could session this all night and for $5.99 a 500ml bottle, Iíd only need to save up for a fortnight to do it.

A floral sensation hit to the nose, with a dash of fruitiness. Clear golden honey in appearance. Lovely light bitter sweet taste that stays on till the very end. Light in the glass yet lively carbonation in the mouth. Crafty with Epic proportions!

Bottle from Mane Liquor. Hoppy nose with strong floral hints and a touch of resin. A sweet taste with smooth carbonation and a balanced malt presence. Mild bitter finish that has you reaching for more.

Pleasant floral hop aroma with some resin. Hops are balanced by some biscuity malt. Aftertaste is quite sweet with some caramel, especially as the beer warms up. Mouthfeel is dry. Tasty and very drinkable.

Clear light chestnut amber with lemon and kiwifruit on the nose. Slightly chalky texture with pithy orange bitterness and oatcake malt flavours.
