COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
You can only drink so many beers in a lifetime, so you better make each one count. That’s where we can help. Because at Epic we’re obsessed with creating big hop-fuelled beers. This takes a shed-load of skill. It also takes a shed-load of hops. In fact there are 15 crammed into this bottle. Many brewers would call that insane. We call it flavour.

From a 500ml bottle on 13/12/2010. Has a nice lively floral, citrus fruit and banana aroma. Subdued caramel malt, zesty fruit (especially orange and grapefruit), and some spiciness present when it hits the mouth. Nice and hoppy, without being over the top. A very good and eminently quaffable APA.

500mL. Pours a clear light orange/amber with a large, healthy, rocky, yellow head with meringue texture and sheen. Giant, poofy, 360 lace. Aroma is powerful chewy, tropical hops: mango, jackfruit, papaya. Taste is slight metallic, nutty bitter, hop forward, black pepper. Something else is in there akin to puppy’s breath. Dry palate.

medium brown with large white head. citrus nose. high carbonation for the style. firm bitterness before low crystal presence and a lot of citrus and spiciness from the cascade. a very dry finish which makes the brew very drinkable. a very solid version of the style

500ml Bottle: Aroma of hops, Earth, crystal malt, caramel, and light citrus. Poured amber in color with a small, creamy, dense, off-white head that lasted throughout. Hazy. Sparkling. Excellent lacing. Flavor is light to medium sweet and lightly bitter. Tastes of crystal malt, slight caramel, Earth, water, hops, slight pine, and light citrus. Medium body. Slick, then slightly sticky texture. Average carbonation. Caramel and crystal malt, hops, Earth, and caramel finish is light to medium sweet, light to medium bitter, and a tad sticky.

Draught@Brew on Quay. Apperance: Nice copper color with a small white head. Aroma: Caramel, Pine, Grapefruit, Bread. Flavor: Pine, Citric notes, Caramel, Roasted malt, Fresh bread. Mouthfeel: Smooth with plenty of carbonation. A very nice New Zealand APA. I enjoyed this immensely after drinking massproduced lager in the tropics for 2 weeks.

Pours a clear golden yellow with white head. Citrus fruits and pine needles dominate the nose. Farily light bodied with a clean, dry finish. Very easy to drink. A good, solid pale ale.

Wow, I’ve heard a lot about this beer and I found it to be very impressive. Nice big hop aroma with good clarity of colour. A very clean, refreshing pale ale, would love to try some of their other beers.

500 ml bottle from Holiday Wine Cellar ($8.29). Pours a murky honey amber with a finger and a half of off-white foam. Aroma is grainy-malty with significant hop notes (soap, floral, sweet citrus). Flavor is some surprisingly sharp and bitter hops for an APA with citrus and pine notes along with a smooth grainy-malt balance. Some lingering bitterness in the finish. A great APA from the Kiwis!
