COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
You can only drink so many beers in a lifetime, so you better make each one count. That’s where we can help. Because at Epic we’re obsessed with creating big hop-fuelled beers. This takes a shed-load of skill. It also takes a shed-load of hops. In fact there are 15 crammed into this bottle. Many brewers would call that insane. We call it flavour.

Pours a perfect amber with thin white head. Smells incredibly refreshing and full of American pale ale yeast and hops. The taste is crisp with a sting bitterness at the back of the palate. A good all round American pale ale, especially for Oceania. If you like this beer and haven’t tried little creatures pale ale (from fremantl, western Australia) I would strongly recommend that you give it a go.

A great example of the antipodean take on the style. Nice ’hoppy’ start with the required ’body’ to balance it afterwards. The only problem is that Epic do many other brews and most are even better (if that could be called a problem).

it’s kinda good but nothing in comparison to other epic beers, blandish hops without much malt body. okay.

Beautiful amber pour with a white head and descent lacing. Aroma is citrus and pine. Taste is citrus, less pine and a little sour and bitter. Pretty complex. Can’t really make out the hop cobination other than maybe cascade, centinal and/or golding. But there is more to it. Nice beer.

Not an unpleasant beer per se. Just not overly well balanced. Typically lovely NZ PA aroma of citrus fruit. Amber with white lasting head. Overly bitter, without the malty body to back it up. A one beer, beer (not sessionable). It’s become a kiwi classic, I just don’t get it with nearly all the other Epic beers running rings around it.

On tap at Brew on Quay. Serve a deep copper color with a decent head that fades to some lacing. Aroma of some pine and citrus with a bit of malt sweetness and fresh grain. Taste of citrus and mild malt sweetnbess with a bit of fruit. Nice bitterness and a clean finish. Medium body, crisp, somewhat creamy with a rich flavor. Nicely balanced. Very enjoyable beer. Well worth checking out.

330mL bottle from Plonk. Darkish-amber, fantastic pine/grapefruit/floral hop aroma and flavour. One of the best APAs I’ve had.

Bottle. Amber beer with a cream head. Spice and grapefruit aroma with pine. Pine and spice flavor with grapefruit. Medium bodied. Pine and spice lingers with grapefruit and light malt.

UPDATED: MAR 31, 2013 Re-rate: I was a tad harsh on this before, I found all the previous bottles to be very timid in aroma and taste. The bottle I’m drinking right now is much better. Everything is a lot fresher and zingier. I could session this all night and for $5.99 a 500ml bottle, I’d only need to save up for a fortnight to do it.

A floral sensation hit to the nose, with a dash of fruitiness. Clear golden honey in appearance. Lovely light bitter sweet taste that stays on till the very end. Light in the glass yet lively carbonation in the mouth. Crafty with Epic proportions!

Bottle from Mane Liquor. Hoppy nose with strong floral hints and a touch of resin. A sweet taste with smooth carbonation and a balanced malt presence. Mild bitter finish that has you reaching for more.
