Pours copper with a nice white head. Smells of perfume, pine resin, earth, some dry malt. Tastes of citrus, pepper, some spice. Mouthfeel is prickly. Finish is bitter.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draught @ Beer Deluxe, Melbourne
Pale copper beer, creamy white head.
Hoppy nose; melon, papaya, citrus, nice touch of light caramel biscuity malt.
Med-full body, moderate carbonation, some sticky resiny texture there.
Plenty to enjoy here - tropical fruity, fragrant hops, backed up by biscuity toasty malts. Bitterness somewhat restrained, hops seem to accentuate malt sweetness.
What you would come to expect from a good NZPA - good stuff!

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Light bodied example of an excellent pale ale. Citrus and spice forward floral hoppiness that opens into a moderately bitter palate. A great example. Highly recommend, this is the beer that got me into craft beer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On keg at the Bow Bar.
Appearance - not particularly pale. More a deep amber. Decent head.
Nose - a bit elusive. Citrus and pine. Resin. Dried fruits.
Taste - toffee and red fruits. Definitely raisins on the end.
Palate - medium bodied with a creamy yet tangy texture and a long dry finish.
Overall - tastes stronger and more complex than the ABV. It’s hard to put this in the pale ale category.

It was a big hoppy drop, a touch too much hop component for me (15 different varieties is a lot of flavour to deal with) it was good, but a bit unwieldy.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Tropical fruits and floral notes, some spiciness and hints of grapefruit. There’s another flavour I can’t pin down - apricot, maybe? This is so very different from any beer I’ve ever tried. Real nice balance, with the malt backbone just there to compliment all those hops. World class pale ale.

28.2.2015. Pale amber, clear. Floral aroma with slight pine, pineapple, slight toffee. Aromatic flavour with grassy and floral notes, decent malts and hops, slight toffee but not sweet. Solid.

UPDATED: JUN 7, 2015 I tried this a year ago on tap and it rocked my world. Now it is merely a veryy good beer. The first aroma is hoppy goodness, but it faded a bit to become a malt-dominant beer. Lashings of caramel and a balanced bitterness that fades like a girlfriend who moved away and you never quite got around to breaking up with. I’ll try this beer again tomorrow, as I have a 4 pack, but I doubt I’ll be chasing this girl around the world. 2nd bottle a few days later was better aroma - I think it was a few degrees warmer this time, so don’t over chill it
