mgbridges (2), Auckland, New Zealand does not count Apr 24, 2007 HOPS!!! The label on this beer promises them, and it delivers them by the bucketload. Oodles of bitterness but backed up by a fruity undercurrent. Very refreshing and cleansing. Would be interesting to try this with rich foods. markas101 (357), Fargo, North Dakota, USA May 12, 2006 330ml bottle, Regional Wines & Spirits. Satisfyingly golden colour, with a thick head that dissapates. Strong hop aroma. Sharp hop flavor that lingers. Full bodied, a good amount of alcohol that never overpowers. An excellent pale ale. greig (72), Hamilton, New Zealand Aug 18, 2007 A firm sharp hoppy beer, very quenching, and a great introduction to flavourful beers to those in this country who may think all we have to offer are crappy "draught" brown lagers. The hop character from the aroma is very "in your face", and sells the fruity, intense flavours to come. A great beer from a great brewer. bmackenzie (39), Wellington, New Zealand Jan 5, 2007 Updated: Jan 23, 2007Bottle from Regional. Nice fresh one!
Resin of fresh hops comes thru in the aroma, it’s like smelling a bag of hops, slightly dusty which i haven’t got before, grapefruit, lemon, lots of grassiness.
Dry non-dextrinous beer, with a soft malt and bittereness at the start. Fruit and hopiness of those brilliant American hops, grapefruit -lemon, a little spice and
long pleasant lingering bitterness

Pours a bright copper-gold with a just off-white fluffy head that diminishes slowly and ends up strongly lacey. Infrequent small bubbles. Delicious aroma of malt and hops - suggests candy floss, toffee, apricot, pine, fresh cut grass. Flavour, delivered in a softly carbonated, lightweight body, is extremely bitter and clean. Malt is the vehicle, while hops are the ride. Pine resin, grass, seawater, peach stone, liquourice and medicine are all knocking about in the mouth. Malt leans towards toffee apple. Huge lingering bitterness, and toasty astringency, gives you time to sit back between sips. An amped up APA. I’m more into malt than hops but this is certainly recommended and is surprisingly easy drinking. Thanks Luke.
