Commercial Description:
You can only drink so many beers in a lifetime, so you better make each one count. That's where we can help. Because at Epic we're obsessed with creating big hop-fuelled beers. This takes a shed-load of skill. It also takes a shed-load of hops. In fact there are 15 crammed into this bottle. Many brewers would call that insane. We call it flavour.

Sometimes you read the funky attempt at describing their beers and the mind immediately goes into wanker mode. ’Get your hand off it fella’ is the thought as you brace yourself for yet another bland brew. Forget the appearance, this is typical of an APA except that it is very clear and therefore filtered. The nose says a bit in its pinecone and cut grass aroma unlerlined by a crisp citrus hit. The first taste doesn’t disappoint the hop head who would not be surprised to see his non humulus lupulously oriented mates pucker at the experience. Clearly a lot of IBUs here and a reasonable malt balance. I have had this from the tap and the bottle and both are consistent . My only question is what does it mean when 15 hops are in each bottle?

Bottle, 5.4%. Good caramelly and elderflowery hop aroma. Clear golden colour, very small white head. Good teaish hop flavour, some sweet caramel flavour. Nice, clean and refreshing.

Considering that this has just flown 14000miles, in the hold of a jumbo, inside one of my cousins shoes, in the suitcase... It’s fantastic. Perhaps they too inspiration from Lil’Creatures? Really good American Pale Ale Style, hoppy, grassy, zingy, dry finish. Well done. 15hops per bottle?

Bottla at Manukau Festival. Pours a clear amber with a small, off-white head. Light sweetness with sme bitterness. Hint of caramel aromas - Nice, as it gives a hint of a malt backbone. Heavy citrus and grapefruit hopsaromas. Medium bodied. Medium carbonation. Best NZ beer so far.

A Mes rate. Bottle at home.
Clean gold with a thin white head. Big fruity and bitter. Incredibly chewy and tasty. Slight mineral and sour notes. Fantastic bitter finish with great length from the Nelson Sauvin. Brilliant.

On tap at the Malthouse. Pours clear orange/brown with meduim head. Aroma is stronge grapefruit, rose petal with some fruity esters.Classic USA cascade hop qualities. Grapefruit, rose petal hop flavour balanced with a clean crystal/caramalt background finishing with a clean bitterness. Overall a good beer, a slight increase in bitterness would make it very good. Well brewed with no technical faults.

Wow, hoppy indeed! Aromas are dominated by a citrus rind hop, although some sweet malt, vanilla and floral notes show through. Flavours are of a zesty, grassy hops with grapefruit and a lemon rind bitterness. Finishes dry and zesty. Awesome!
