Bottle 500ml. Fantastic beer. Powerful aroma of herbs, and also malt. Flavour is nicely balanced sweet and bitter, with long finish. Amber colour, with a stable medium-size head. Medium body with not too much carbonation.

Bottle. Pours clear amber with a nice creamy off-white head. Aroma is certainly hoppy and has notes of lemon, grapefruit, lavender, musk and caramel. Flavour is not as strong as the aroma suggests but isn’t exactly mild either. There is still loads of hops as well as flavours of malt, citrus and caramel standing out and a touch of peppery spiciness. Quite dry in the mouth with a nice amount of bitterness and a medium long finish. Not quite as big (epic?) as the Armageddon but a great beer in its own right.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 matthewsmith (12) - NEW ZEALAND - FEB 4, 2011
Pours a bright pale bronze, aromas of grapefruit, pine and a hint of caramel. Bitter and hoppy but balanced, Citrussy and Piney hops again, finishes dry but with a lovely hint of caramel to balance. This was one of the first beers to turn me onto craft beer and homebrewing and still one of my favorite APA’s. Stoked this is so easy to find these day’s.

330 ml bottle
Aroma: Very clear, slightly aromatic resinous hops with a hint of lemon.
Appearance: pale hazy amber, fairly thick head with durable lacing.
Taste: No hint of sweetness, light to medium bitterness and just a touch of acidic sourness.
Palate: medium body, faintly sticky texture, lively carbonation and a long faintly astringent finish.
Overall: Nice to know you can get a good IPA in NZ. It is a bit pricey: 3.99 for 330 ml. I’d rather see it in 6 paks or 500 mls.
3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 reviled (13) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - FEB 1, 2009
Have had on tap and in bottles, prefer it on tap personally as it seems more thin bodied out of the bottle. Pours crystal clear with a nice white fluffy head. Big hop aroma with massive citrus notes. Flavour comes through as a fairly hefty bitterness with a slightly dry finish which lingers on the toungue. Goes down exceptionally well in the warm weather.

On tap and from bottle. A deep amber-orange. Has a wonderful citrusy aroma and flavour. orange peel hop dominates. one of my favourite brews and one of the first NZ craft beers I ever tried. I call it "my old friend whom I don’t visit often enough", because I am constantly passing over it in favour of something I haven’t tried before.
