Forget the appearance, this is typical of an APA except that it is very clear and therefore filtered. The nose says a bit in its pinecone and cut grass aroma unlerlined by a crisp citrus hit. The first taste doesn’t disappoint the hop head who would not be surprised to see his non humulus lupulously oriented mates pucker at the experience. Clearly a lot of IBUs here and a reasonable malt balance. I have had this from the tap and the bottle and both are consistent . My only question is what does it mean when 15 hops are in each bottle? It’s fantastic. Perhaps they too inspiration from Lil’Creatures? Really good American Pale Ale Style, hoppy, grassy, zingy, dry finish. Aroma is stronge grapefruit, rose petal with some fruity esters.Classic USA cascade hop qualities. Grapefruit, rose petal hop flavour balanced with a clean crystal/caramalt background finishing with a clean bitterness.
Overall a good beer, a slight increase in bitterness would make it very good. Well brewed with no technical faults. sdriessen (208), Dunedin, New Zealand
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 29, 2009 Wow, hoppy indeed!
Aromas are dominated by a citrus rind hop, although some sweet malt, vanilla and floral notes show through.
Flavours are of a zesty, grassy hops with grapefruit and a lemon rind bitterness.
Finishes dry and zesty. Awesome!
