Bottled. A murky dark amber beer with a lazing orangey head. The aroma has notes of hops, straw, lemons, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of hops, malt, alcohol, straw, and lemons, leading to a bitter finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.

22 fl oz bottle. Pours hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma is fruity and light citrusy. Citrusy, thick, malty and sugarish. Mild citric and sweet. Orange fruity, grapefruity and peachy. Yeasty, mild fruity and light phenolic.

Bottle 65 cl. Pours a thick syrupy muddy opaque amber with a small and creamy off-white head. Pleasant fruity aroma. Surprisingly thick, sweet and grainy, again very fruity with a little late hops. The rye really adds here - in a pleasant way. 100912

Very cloudy brown color, nice nose of rye with a moderate amount of acidity. The mouth has low hops, with a touch of rye spiciness and decent acidity. Very quaffable. Lingering rye notes in the end. Enjoyable.

Aromas of weeds and grass with a little bit of smoke and chocolate in the background. Fairly clear deep copper orange with an off-white head. Light honey and caramel sweetness followed by dry grassy notes, a slight sourness and a mellow toastiness. Bitterness seems mostly like a roasted husk type bitterness that sticks close to the tongue. Kind of like a brown ale (compares favorably with Sierra Nevada Tumbler) with a spicy dryness.

Had this at the 2012 Twin Cities Beer Festival. Nice rye/wood/barrel scents, had a nice sweet taste.

Bottle courtesy of Max at a tasting at Paul’s. Pours a lightly hazed ruby amber with a medium sized off white head. Musky right away on the nose, soft yeast and wheat sweetness. Medium bodied, sweet and touches of caramel. Musky, a bit more light bitterness, touches of yeast. Easy drinking.

Bottle from the brewery. Pours a nice dark bronze with an average head. The aroma is mellow yet enticing. This drinks very nicely with a pleasantly rolling pale ale character, bringing an added extra gristy spice that I like to get from a good rye. Nice. (#4689, 7/9/2012)
