Murky hazy dark amberish copper with a thick foamy off cream head. Nice doughy and earthy rye malt nose with a citrusy leafy hop tone. Lovely flavor of a clean rye doughy malt with some balanced bitter leafy hop tones and a kiss of citrus rind. Nuanced and full and tasty. And thereís a touch of black roast malt on the finish.

Bottle from the brewery. Pours a nice dark bronze with an average head. The aroma is mellow yet enticing. This drinks very nicely with a pleasantly rolling pale ale character, bringing an added extra gristy spice that I like to get from a good rye. Nice. (#4689, 7/9/2012)

22. Pours a clear medium amber with loose tan head. Big toasty spicy rye nose. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Toasty, earthy, toasted spice rye mid palate. Long earthy finish. Good little rye.

Had this at the 2012 Twin Cities Beer Festival. Nice rye/wood/barrel scents, had a nice sweet taste.

Bottle. Pours an orange-copper color with almost no head. Lots of hoppiness to the nose with a hint of floral notes underneath. Tastes almost like an IPA, though with a different note from the rye in there. A really interesting drink!

Mid brown pour some soapy bubbles. Aroma is slight choco, toast, slight tang, beany. Full grainy flavor, spice, peachy hop flavor. A bit slimy watery and dry palate.

ah ha! first! Must have just put in cold case lucky me. Pours a nice coppery bronze color off-white copper head with nice lacing. Nose is bready sweet and spicy. The drink is a nice spicy rye lemony breadiness, not rye overpowering, light and crisp taste I found somewhat refreshing. Will buy/drink again.

Bottle: Pours a nice copper color with a toasted head. The nose is hoppy and fresh with some light maltiness and spicy rye notes. The flavor isnít too strongly leaning towards rye which is a good thing because Iím not the biggest fan of earthy hoppy rye beers (Denny Connís for example). This one has much more of a crisp reserved hoppiness and a nice thick bready note that lets the rye really take center stage. Very nice.

Big blast of rye aromas, with a hint of lemon. Pours a reddish-amber, with a full white head. Nice and chewy mouthfeel, with a lot of spice notes from the rye. Finishes with a bit of roasted notes. This is a nice solid Rye beer, especially at under $4 a bomber.
