from Erzbierschof - cloudy brown beer with a little long lasting beige foam; nice lace; some biscuity and earthy maltiness; medium-bodied and pretty velvety palate; a late and light grainy tartness before a moderately long flowery and malty finish

Cloudy brown beer. Good pale tan head. Smooth palate, creamy. Lots of smooth tangy rye malt, not spicy. Malt cream. A little orange hops. Light soft finish. Okay but I really thought there would be more going on here. Disappointing.

5000 (6300) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - AUG 18, 2013
Bottle:   Darker caramel, muddy, moderate to large frothy sandy head, nice lacing.   Dirty rye nose, slight citrus peel and pith.   Strong hay and rye on the tongue, semi-sweet, pith and peel that is a touch candied.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Finishes with a lemony rye aspect, candyish, with some pith and peel that isn’t terribly strong.   Tiz okay.   Their Hop Rye’it is better.

Bottled. A murky dark amber beer with a lazing orangey head. The aroma has notes of hops, straw, lemons, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of hops, malt, alcohol, straw, and lemons, leading to a bitter finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.
