Draft sample. Poured a clear brown color with an average creamy brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate roasted coffee, citrus and floral aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium roasted coffee sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Solid complex brew.

Bomber poured a clear reddish brown with a lasting tan head. Aromas of carmel, nuttiness, grapefruit, light orange zest and light pine. Palate was medium bodied and crisp. Flavors of carmel, grapefruit, orange zest, pine and light earthiness with a crisp dry bitter lingering grapefruit finish.

Bottle @ home. Deep brown/black appearance with a big brown head. Somewhat piney/earthy, lightly bitter hoppy, a touch nutty but mostly a roasty caramel malty aroma. Again, the earthy hoppiness plays a big role in the flavor along with a toasty malty, moderate caramelized taste with some earthiness on the finish. Not bad but I’m not too impressed.

Brownn pour, light beige head. Nuts, chocolate, roasted malt, and some very light coffee notes in the nose. Flavor is up front malty with nuts and coffee hints...finishes with the perfect bitterness. Really nice stuff.

Tap at Smoke and Barrel. Hazy, deep brown pour. Rockier, off-white foma. Decent, webby lacing. Nose is piney and fairly dank aromatic hops. Taste is essentially Black IPA, overhopped with loads of pine resin, sap, and roast. Grapefruit+toasted malt bitterness. Hop forward. Should be moved to Black IPA.
