This nostalgic porter evokes memories of chocolate and coffee around a campfire.· The cherry wood smoked malt used in this beer gives it a heavy smokiness that blends smoothly into the chocolate malty body.· With a silky finish this porter is ideal for sipping on a cold winters eve.

Dark mahogany pour with hints of squid ink and a small latte head. Cocoa, roasted malt, caramel, and dark chocolate. Missing the pork butt and vanilla hint that I get in a lot of these. Not as robust and aggressive as I would have enjoyed. Meh.

Aroma of smoke and roasted malts. Pours a dark brown with a small tan head which forms a tan ring and no lacing. The taste is mildly bitter. Mild peaty smoke, roasted malts, and grain with a nice bitter finish. Medium body with medium carbonation. Overall, an enjoyable porter.

22 ounce bottle into signature pint glass; release 11, bottled 2/19/2012. Pours slightly hazy deep reddish brown color with a 1-2 finger dense light tan head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, toast, caramel, smoke, light char, light coffee, raisin, and roasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of roasted malt notes with moderate smoke; and decent strength. Taste of chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, toast, smoke, caramel, light coffee, and light fruitiness. Light roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, smoke, caramel, toast, and light coffee on the finish for a bit. Very nice balance of roasted malt and smoke flavors with good complexity; and no cloying flavors present after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a fairly creamy and smooth mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a very nice smoked porter style. Good complexity and balance of roasted flavors with smoke; and very smooth to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

65cl bottle @Cimmeria, Oviedo. Moderate smoked aromas, somenuts. Pours quite dark, with average brown head, vanishing. Light to medium body, soft carbonation and oily texture. Taste is quite bitter, smoky, with some caramel. Desperately lacks body. Aftertaste is long.

Not as much smoke as I would like. Black with thick foam, fairly thick palate on this beer Heavily roasted, and an almost burnt grain flavor in some sips. Some malt sweetness and charred wood in the flavor, as well as a hint of wood smoke.

Bottle from South Lyndale Liquors (Minneapolis, Minnesota)
Aroma: Malty, smokey, some chocolate and licorice notes.
Appearance: A dark brown/black color with a small brown head.
Taste: Moderately sweet, slightly bitter. Not as smokey as I would have liked from a smoked porter.
Palate: Light bodied, average carbonation, and a bitter finish.

Bottle from South Bay Liquor: Appeared as a dark brown liquid that allows for more light transparency that most other porter styles do. Aroma is faint but does give off a minor scent of smokiness and lightly roasted dark malt. The drink is mild with a delicate touch of roast malts but falls short in regards to delivering a smoky flavor. Maybe it’s just too subtle a beer for me but I will note it is balanced well considering it is a smoked porter. Also, it was an affordable bomber for the price of $4.99
