4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
I had a bottle of Release #27, 7.9%
Nice, apple and saison yeast aroma.
darker color than a cider or lager -- a little more caramelly in the color than a traditional alcoholic apple cider.
Taste is very nice, dry and crisp with green apple flavor right on the front. Mouthfeel is very carbonated, and it helps as the flavor slides from raw green apple to traditional saison yeasts and maybe some coriander on the back end. Nice and light.
Shame I bought this in February, this has summer beer written all over it!
Definitely worth a second buy in my opinion, I love a good saison and green apple makes a much better compliment than I expected.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A strong aroma of apples for this light gold beer almost smells like a cider. A complex but light flavor. Apple and coriander but dose a really good job of having the typical saison flavors.

Wow, think of a great saison made with apple, this is it. Sour apple, funk, pepper, but it all blends together! Great.

On tap. It smells and taste like a classic saisons with some slight sour apple hints. I really like the funky dust flavor associated with the style.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle back from beer run. The apple is very prominent in the aroma and flavor and is actually pretty nice. Would be an incredible spring time beer. The yeast adds a bit of a pungent flavor but overall this is a pretty light and refreshing drink.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Release 27 poured from bottle to glass. Crystal clear straw hue with very fizzy white head that dissipated quickly. Aroma of esters, hay, yeast, grass, vinegar, apple, sugar, pepper, cloves. Mouthfeel is smooth with medium light body and high carbonation. Taste is sweet throughout with CO2 sharpness in the finish. Overall, this is an so so saison that comes across as a bit artificial.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours very clear, very very light gold color. Explosive carbonation for not being bottle conditioned. Smells tart and very much of farmhouse funk. Taste is slightly tart, sweet. Lots of dry apple, smoke, clove flavor. Not bad but not my favorite sour saison.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Hazy, pale straw color with small, quick, off-white head. Aromas of oak/ chardonnay, butter, granny smith, lemon, bubble gum, barnyard... The flavor is apple, lemon, buttered toast... the finish is tart and just a bit toasty, adequate carbonation. This is a rich, flavorful saison, definitely showing apples flavors, but lacking some of the bolder saison characteristics. It reminds me a lot of chardonnay in the flavor, but not really wine-y as a whole, but I don’t like chard...
