22 oz bottle, Whole Foods Columbus. Lovely slightly hazy light orange; giant white head turns to a slight uneven covering; medium lacing. Aroma surprisingly weak; mostly citrus with some caramel and a touch of pine. Flavor up front is also slightly weaker than expected and maybe just a touch under-malty and not sweet, since the finish is sharply bitter. Mouthfeel is just barely slightly thin, but the carbonation is frothy. Average IPA.

Straw gold pour with creamy white head and lace. Wheaty like malt, paper, sweet caramel malt and some floral notes. Sweet caramel/wheaty malt the floral bitter, and a sweet finish. Good carbonation but a tad thin.

11/12/12 notes: bottle. Part of Epic’s Classic Series, and indeed this one is a fine representation of the style. Pouring a glowing peach-orange hue, aromas of tangerine, meyer lemon, and milder fragrant flowers characterize the aroma. Clean. Body is on the lighter end of the IPA spectrum, but maintaining a distinctive creaminess which softens the experience. Water specs, perhaps? Flavor is balanced but appropriately hop-assertive, leaning tropical and towards orange. Bitterness soft and round, I guess it could use a bit of a hit.

Bottle, 22oz. A finger-thick off-white head sits on top of a lightly unclear golden body. The aroma is quite citrusy and piney, with pale malts underneath. Some grass. It’s quite soft and smooth on the palate, full-bodied and semi-dry. The flavor is a bit weak, with a bit too low level of bitterness. Grass, pine cones and malty sweetness too. Bitter finish, but not as bitter as I could wish for. Overall a bit too sweet and not enough bitterness, but still nice. 121124

Pours slightly hazy golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, citrus, orange and hint of pine. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter with a long fruity and bitter finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottle. Pours cloudy golden with a white head. Aroma of citrus, peach and malt. Flavor is sweet and malty with some bitterness, mint, herbal hops and biscuits. Medium body, average carbonation.

Pours an orange amber colour with a white head. Aroma of sweet caramel, grassy hops and some citrusy notes. Flavour is rather harsh with bread-like maltiness, grassy hops, citrus and loads of hay. Medium bodied, slick mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Finishes bitter and light sweet. Quite a basic IPA really.

(Bottle) Pours hazy deep golden to pale amber with an off-white head. The aroma holds rubber/latex, light flowers, wet wood, cucumber, compost, bread touch of fruits and grainy bread. Maybe a touch of phenols. The flavor is fairly dry, light to medium biter and light acidic with notes of wood, grass, citrus, bread and light grain. The mouthfeel is tight wit a near medium carbonation. Woodsy bitter finish. Light to medium bodied.

Bomber bought @ Bierkompass.de. Pours hazy orange with a small frothy offwhite head that quickly dissipates while leaving some sticky trace on the glass. Smell is slightly sweet, fruity and tiny malty with crackers, cereal, peaches, pineapple, slightly dry grass, bread, lemon zest, papaya, star fruit, rubber, sweet peas, cucumber and hints of apples and compost. Taste is tiny sweet, bitter and slightly fruity witch crackers, white bread, grapefruit rinds, pine, moist grass, papaya, pineapple, star fruit, green apples, latex, moist soil, peppery wood, sheet metal and hints of unripe pears. Mouthfeel is tiny crisp, slightly round, tiny astringent and light to medium bodied. Finish is tiny sweet and bitter with bread, overripe pineapple, mango, moist soil, peppery wood, sheet metal, slightly dry grass, pine and cucumber. Lots of weird stuff going on here... Turn around and walk away slowly.

Hoppy floral aroma, milk notes, caramel, lemon zest, wet soil, citrus, orange, creamy, vanilla, pine apples, earthy, mango, clementines. Hoppy floral flavor, hay, creamy, earthy, pine apples, soil, caramel, vanilla, rubber, some elderberries.
