Spiral Jetty India Pale Ale is the launching point in our series of hoppy IPA brews. Spiral Jetty IPA has an aggressive hop profile (five different hops used here with two in the dry hop) presenting citrus, floral, resinous or pine aromas and flavors typical of American hops and a nice pleasant, cleansing bitterness on the finish. The dominance of the hops helps to balance the complex malt flavors and the higher alcohol content. Spiral Jetty is our strongest Classic Series ale at 6.6% alcohol by volume, but certainly not our strongest beer.

Bottled. A hazy golden beer with a thin yellowish head. The aroma has notes of hops, lemons, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of lemons, malt, straw, and hay, leading to a dry and bitter finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.

Very hazy orange - amber beer, tidy pale cream coloured head. Palate is a little dry with fine carbonation. Malt is dry and a little grainy. Medium pine hops with a whisper of citrus. Dry finish, mildly bitter aftertaste. A bit dry and muted.

Tap at Churchkey. My favorite of the Epic brews launched at CK that night. Cloudy orange color, off white head. Really nice pine aroma with a citrus and floral edge. Taste is not too bitter, but not underwhelming either - it’s just right. Nice brew.

Bottle from Erzbierschof, Bern
Hazy light amber color, with medium head. Mild malt aroma, some grass. Lean mouthfeel; there is an ordinary flavor of caramel with light toffee, very light cereals, lightly biscuity; quite strong bitterness, with resins, but no hop fruitiness.
It has no BBE date, but it must be old.
