3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Doesn’t pull of the higher abv(for a saison) as good as Opal does, but that’s the beers only fault...a little tiny bit to sweet and heavy. But, the yeasty fruitiness and light floral hops are very pleasant and this is a good brew

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber of release 15. Big white head atop a clear straw beer. Good lacing. Great drinking beer. Not too funky or rustic....good toasty malt flavors, lots of Belgian spice, and a balance. Sweeter finish. Not very noteworthy as a saison, primarily due to sweetness, but good all around Belgian beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Hazel’s beverage world. Hazy yellow color, white head. Bitter taste with citrus, hops, earthy notes, peach, grass and a bit of resin. Bitter finish with citrus, hops, earthy notes and peach. Very nice saison.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 ounce bottle. Release #15. 7.1 ABV. Cloudy yellow gold. Thick bubbly white head. Perfumy yeasty wheat malt aroma. Notes of bubblegum and lemon peel. Upfront, earthy wheat malt with hints of lemon, clove and hay. Very smooth and refreshing. There is that underlying funky barnyard touch that lingers throughout. Finish is slightly dry and peppery. Overall, very good and true to the Saison style.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pour on tap at Mayor of Old Town, clear yellow pour with white head, aroma brought peach, some white fruit, spice notes into some biscuit, bread, hints of dough into some yeast as well. Taste is a mix of yeast, grain, biscuit, some pear, slight spice into some grassy notes, finishing slightly dry. Eh.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Hazy blonde, not much head. Lots of phenolic yeast...common saison yeast.... Sweetish, but in the finish there’s a touch of acidity and pedio that doesn’t seem like it should be there. Ends up not that interesting save for the faults.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle (batch 15, 7.1%).
Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly lasting.
Body is hazy light yellow.
Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), lightly yeasty (basement), with notes of coriander, orange peel, lemon-lime juice, apple skin, plastic.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic.
Comes off much more like a hybrid of Witbier and American Wheat to me (sure seems spiced with coriander and orange peel to me, but oh well). Some unwelcome plastic in the nose, too. Ok flavor balance, although the sweetness is a touch saccharine. Not terrible by any means, just not very saison-like, overall. The Denver brewery hasn’t been producing quite as decent quality beers as the SLC one, but perhaps they will work out their problems in time.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Clean pale Belgian malt, candy sugar and erfumed citrus-focused aroma with soapy touches of potpourri. Medium-full body, sweet and chewy with relatively low carbonation giving it a sludgy consistency. Lightly phenolic in a peppery, mildly bitter finish. Nothing really wrong here, overall a bit plain, a little boozy (the residual sugar syrup film in the mouth along with alcohol gives it a malt liquor / corn syrup effect). The acidity and carbonation play with the sugar is somewhat balanced if you accept that you’re drinking Tripel / Strong Golden Belgian rather than Saison.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
10 oz at the brewery. Pours bright yellow with a quickly dissipating white head. Aroma is cheesy like Brett might be with faint barnyard notes and light suggestions of lemon. The palate is pretty full with a bit more sweetness and clove than I like from the style. There is a good level of funky esters and rough grains for balance. Finishes with a touch of woody hops and lemony bite. Not too shabby.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Batch 15 7.1% 22oz bomber from Crossroads. Poured a super cloudy golden straw body under a dense creamy bright white head. Aroma is very nice, lemon, pepper, spice, wet wheat, dough, bananan, bubble gum. Great medium to slightly fuller body, creamy throughout, average carbonation and a long lingering aftertaste. Flavor is good but not quite as good aroma. Notes of grains, pepper, spice, yeast, dry tropical fruit rinds, dough, old lemons, tonic. Good stuff.
