3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle - Sweet flowery herbal notes and lots of rosemary. Hazy gold with a rich white head. Sweet Rosemary dominates and some peppery notes with a touch of esters and yeast. Too much Rosemary.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
650ml bottle pours a slightly hazy golden orange color with a huge white head that settles down to some nice lacing. Aroma is sage with some lemon zest and herbal notes. Taste is a herbal hop bitterness with some lemon tartness and a light malty sweetness with a dry finish. Light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall, an interesting brew, well crafted, but does not sit well with me.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber. Hazy yellow with a big white head. Sage, rosemary, dandelion, green tea and a little green apple. Refreshing dry herbal flavor with the slightest tartness. Lighter body with a crisp fizzy feel.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from bottle into a chalice glass
Appearance – The beer pours very hazy golden orange color with a large white rocky foam head. The head fades very slowly over time to leave a ton of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is big of a peppercorn and herbal smell with the herbal aromas being a mix of sage and rosemary with some other nondeScript herbal aromas. Along with these smells comes some aromas of a yeastiness and well as a bit of a sweeter orange citrus smell. With a little bit of banana and some grass and hay, an herbal funked and slightly sweet smell is delivered overall.
Taste – The taste begins with a somewhat drier wheat and cracker taste mixed with an herbal taste of a sage and a moderate showing of yeast. As the taste advances a little bit of citrus tangerine and orange sweetness comes to tongue, with it later fading again. As the sweeter citrus fades, it is replaced by some lemon and even more herbal tastes with more sage piling on and being joined by some other herbal tastes, a bit of grass, and some peppercorn. With some hay and a slight resurgence of the sweeter flavors of tangerine coming at the end, one is left with a somewhat funky and herbal yeasted taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is average in thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is average to slightly higher. For the style a little thinner body and a slightly higher carbonation level may have accentuated the mix of sage and sweet slightly better. Even said the overall feel was OK.
Overall- A decent saison overall with a whole lot of an herbal taste. For the price tag, not one I would likely frequent, but it was at least an interesting one to try.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Appearance: cloudy orange gold, with two thick fingers of near white-light yellow head and good lacing. Aroma: powerful nose of herb garden (strong sage, of course), light citrus, coriander, decently funky. Taste: bright lemongrass and orange zest, mingled perfectly with freshly-harvested sage, white pepper, rosemary, coriander, and light funk. Finish: lingering zesty, herbal and citrus notes. Notes: Really nice saison. Slightly heavier in the palate than I like, but still good. Creative and just different enough to stand out. Bottle from Sarah for Beerthday 2015.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a translucent golden into the glass, with a stiff 4-finger meringue head that leaves thick, soapy lacing. The nose is of fresh sage plants... the green, leafy herbs are wonderfully accepted aromas. The bouquet transfers directly into the flavor. The sage is hugely predominant, of chewing on fresh green sage leaves. It’s extremely citrusy and lightly resinous, with nice, big lemon notes that finish with dried sage and various herbs (i.e. rosemary and olive oil). The fresh herbal essence lingers appropriately for this vegetal brew. This citrusy, yet savory mouthfeel is satiating and complex, but has a light enough body to provide a cleansing palate that makes for an easy pull for any season. Epic has done it again with a great differential take on the traditional saison!

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours hazy light orange with a foamy two finger white head with nice lacing. Aroma is of spices (including sage, rosemary, and thyme), sour ripe fruits, wet hay, black pepper, medical notes, earthy grassy and herbal hops, and some mustyness. Taste is about the same with a lot of spices up front with some nice farmhouse funk in the background. Has a medium body with a creamy mouthfeel and a dry, slightly bitter, medium-long finish. Overall, a very interesting and tasty saison that I imagine would pair niceley with food.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from the brewery. This was explained to me as a giant burst of sage, but the sage actually blends into the myriad other spices, including those naturally present in the saison. Coriander and candied lemon. Sage comes through a bit more in the flavor, but despite its strength, I wish there was more. Good, full-bodied, style-appropriate brew with a nicely bitter after, though.
