Wow, I really liked this saison. Lots of sage, really and truly sage, on the palate and the nose. Fresh. Plenty of sticky and piney resins. not over-sweet or over-hopped or anything. Excellent and interesting.

Sage is one of those spices where a little goes a long way. So Epic used a lot. They call it sage saison, all I can taste is sage. Maybe there is a saison under there but there is no way to know.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottling %5 on the bottle. Shared with Strykzone on Facebook Chat. Poured a hazy golden with a huge white head that took forever to settle. The nose was sage, some barnyard, rosemary, and a hint of ripe fruit. Medium in body with a smooth mouthfeel. The flavor is complex, with lots of spices, and the every present sage. As it warms it becomes even more spicy. A very interesting and quite tasty beer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bomber from Hayduke. We had it together via facebook chat. This has a big white fluffy light head that stays nicely. The beer is hazed after the bottle was rolled. It is golden and saison looking. The aroma is at first very much a saison with earthy malts but then herbal spices are noted. They are subtle and gentle and are quite nice. Certainly not over done. Those are tasted, and are just as nice. Complex, too. It tastes and smells like a spice rack. When colder I tasted a bit of fruit and even some licorice. Through the middle the spices became a little heavy but they settled by the finish. This was so interesting and it is exactly what American craft brewing does best.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Very interesting beer. Poured from the bottle into a tulip. Appearance is orange/amber with medium head. Aroma is sage and bubblegum. Initial taste was terrible. As it warmed up it got much better. Sage, bubblegum and Belgian yeast notes come through. Really interesting, but probably wouldn’t buy again.

On tap at Epic - Denver. Pours golden and cloudy. Earth Aroma. Herbs and spice front and forward. Interesting concept, very earthy and dirty but finishes clean and dry. Interesting and unique.

Earthy yeast aroma, with some sage. Sweetish malt flavor. Nice amount of sage flavor; definitely there, but not too much. Spicy and earthy flavors... Moderate bitter aftertaste. (release #8)

Bottle thanks to a trade! Pours a clear gold with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma has a combination of sage and light flora with with a bit of a grassy backbone. Flavor has more sage with some grass notes and just a hint of flora.

Orange hue with frothy light head. Moderate lacing.
Very well balance with malt forward but quick to slight acidic and a pleasant, lingering slightly bitter finish.
Excellent with figs. ~m

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
The sage aroma is nice and the presence of it in the taste is there too. Other aromas of banana, grass, and citrus. Pours a straw yellow slightly cloudy. Taste is medium sweetness, lightly sour, with notes of sage. Finish is a little smooth, somewhat lingering and ever so slightly acidic. Overall, pretty good with an interesting twist with the sage.
