Bomber, Release #14. Poured cloudy medium golden with an easily-resuscitated white head. The aroma picked up sweet and tangy orange notes over soft bready malts.. spicy clove and banana accents.. a touch hoppy for the style, but I enjoyed it. The flavor found bread and pale malts at the core, with banana, white pepper, and tangy orange zest around.. finished crisp with spicy, engaging yeast and complementary malty backing. Light-medium bodied with a very good feel and flow through the palate.. very good stuff!

On hand at Wynkoop’s United Tastes of Belgium 2012. Slightly cloudy straw/gold with a fluffy white head. Aroma was pretty different for a wit, loads of coriander and a tone not unlike pepperoni meat on the nose. Taste is smooth and balanced with some citrus and wheaty coriander, some peppery spiciness, and a balancing light bitterness.

Bottle. Pours a hazy hay with a light white that fades to a fluffy halo. Big spicy, yeasty and banana aroma. The spice is a bit overwhelming on the tongue that fades to a slight orange backing on the tongue. Nothing spectacular.

22oz bottle. Poured a hazy straw yellow color with a thick, fluffy white head. Aroma was a bit repulsive for me at first - I don’t know, something seemed a bit off about it - don’t know if it was the yeast character or the grains but meh. Yeah. Surprisingly I enjoyed the flavor a lot more. This was okay - if the aroma was better I’d probably have enjoyed it a lot more.

Bottle (release #6). Pours with a hazed, light golden hued body with a large fluffy white head (looks like the moon). Good retention and lace. Strong spice and phenolic nose with notes of pepper, coriander, sage and lavender. Some floral almost honey like notes, grains of paradise, medium malt character: crackery, wheat. Quite spicy. Flavors show a touch of salinity, bready, grainy wheat, floral, sage, coriander, lavender. Low pepper. Strong phenols overall. Very soft mineral character. Very low bitterness. Fuller carbonation, dry, medium to low bodied. Easy to drink.
