COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Slightly higher in alcohol content than traditional Wits, ours is brewed using wheat, oats, authentic Belgian yeast, malts and just a sprinkle of hops. Spices include coriander, sweet and bitter orange peel and grains of paradise.

This 5.9% brew is a bold representation of the Belgian Wit style. The coriandar pops out in the arome followed by a beautiful citrus wheat nose. The flavors assault your tongue in the most wonderfully exciting fashion, finishing dry with a lingering citrus and coriander note.

Bottle... Poured somewhat orange with an easy forming eggy, off-white head. Loads of yeast spices and coriander in the both aroma and flavor. Wheated malt sweetness and vanilla along with bitter orange rind peels, citrus, grassy hops, and yeast spices as it dried out towards the finish. This was well done but if I were to nitpick I’d say a little too much on the spicing here.

Bottle:   Dirty straw, very thick and hazy, moderate to large foamy white head, nice lacing.   Heavy spiced nose, lots of grains of paradise and coriander.   Spicy and spritzy on the tongue.   Wheaty, thankfully not all that mealy either.   Perhaps a touch at the very finish.   Much spicier and thicker than most.   That’s a nice change.   Strong spiciness, but not bright (if that makes sense).   Becomes more mealy as it warms.   More body than most.   Very respectable, and better than most that’s for sure.

Aroma is complex spices and an undercurrent of citrus. The flavor is spices/mild heat, wheat, citrus and a mildly sour finish.

Very nice color of a hazy Pineapple juice. ½ white head with good retention and lace. Aromas of coriander, hint of apple and wheat. Taste is simple and easy carbonation makes it easy to chug. Coriander and spice upfront, a hint of apple and a twinge of citrus in the finish. Its a nice brew. Is very easy to drink. Looks good, smells good, tastes good. A nice Wit.

On hand at Wynkoop’s United Tastes of Belgium 2012. Slightly cloudy straw/gold with a fluffy white head. Aroma was pretty different for a wit, loads of coriander and a tone not unlike pepperoni meat on the nose. Taste is smooth and balanced with some citrus and wheaty coriander, some peppery spiciness, and a balancing light bitterness.
