22 ounce bottle into signature pint glass, release #10 bottled 5/31/2012. Pours lightly hazy golden straw color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of big lemon zest, orange zest, orange rind, coriander, clove, pepper, wheat, ginger, earth, floral, and light herbal. Damn nice aromas with good balance, strength, and complexity. Taste of big lemon zest, orange peel, coriander, ginger, clove, pepper, wheat, bread, floral, earth, grass, and herbal. Lingering notes of citrus, coriander, clove, pepper, ginger, wheat, grass, and herbal on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic flavor balance and complexity; with a great malt/spice balance; zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with a lightly creamy and very crisp and prickly mouthfeel that is very nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with hardly any warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a highly excellent witbier! Great flavor balance and complexity; very smooth a crisp to drink. Highly enjoyable offering; exceeded my expectations.

Bomber shared. Poured a lightly hazy yellow with nice white head. Nice aroma of wheat, orange zest, sweet malts. The flavor was mild and full of flavors. Bready malts, orange and coriander. One of the best wits I have had.

Sample at the tap room in Denver. Slightly cloudy yellow-gold color with a medium white head that recedes steadily. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus, spice and malt. Light-bodied with flavors of herbal wheat, citrus and subtle hops. The finish is fruity up front with an herbal yeast aftertaste. Decent overall.

Bottle pour. Hazy golden color with large foamy white head and nice lacing. Orange and bread aroma. Smooth medium body. Strong bread taste that taste a little like bananas. Also orange followed by a strong hoppy aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at the Denver brewery. Pour is hazy golden with a small white head and good lacing. White pepper, basil, lavender, light vanilla, biscuit, herbal, grass, and straw in the aroma. Taste is heavy spice - lavender, basil, white pepper - lemons, grass, biscuit, vanilla, and phenols with a spicy finish. Light body with high carboantion. Decent beer but a bit too heavy on the lavender to be a great wit for me.

Bomber from Highland Wine & Liquor. I’ve had some trouble finding the information for the batch numbers for the Epic Denver brewery. I need to dig around their site some more. I wasn’t expecting a whole lot out of this one, as Epic’s Belgian beers seem to be hit or miss for me with a few more misses than hits. This, however turned out to be one of the best witbiers I have had. The pour is very light in color, very textbook for the style, with significant cloudiness in the body. The aroma is wheaty and grainy with just hints at orange peel and savory spice. The palate is pretty full, but not sticky. The grains come through nicely here, imparting raw wheaty flavor in a good way. There are suggestions of clove, light fruits, gentle citrus and a nice, drying finish. There aren’t any overbearing yeasty notes and no extra stickiness or sweetness, despite the somewhat higher alcohol content for the style. Honestly, this is quite a nice Belgian wit.

Tastes are banana, white pepper, coriander, clove, lemon, tangerine, bread, ginger, grapefruit, and a yeasty finish. Medium body, lively carbonation, watery mouthfeel and clean finish.
