3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 beer-yum (61) - Wellington, NEW ZEALAND - MAY 15, 2013
Yet another great beer from Epic (aptly named). This blended hop IPA is just asking to be compared to their single hop Mosaic. While I’m sure I’ll eventually prefer one over the other I’m happy to keep an open mind and draining glasses of both!
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Oakes (10936) - Savusavu, FIJI ISLANDS - APR 16, 2013
Hazy amber. Aroma is actually quite chewy. There’s some light fruity character, accented towards tropical fruit. On the palate, it is lighter, with brighter hops, albeit with a lot if crystal still messing with it.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 ComradeK (732) - Blue Mountains, AUSTRALIA - MAR 25, 2013
500ml bottle. Pours a fairly clear copper amber, with a medium off-white head, which lasts well and leaves decent lacing. The aroma has some nutty malt, along with some almost charry toast and pine resin and preserved lemon hops notes. Sappy herbal and pine hops up front offer a hint of pineapple leading into nutty, toasty malt in the mid-palate. A touch of preserved lemon mixes well with toasty malt in the finish. A nice IPA, with some slightly unusual hops flavours to help it stand out a little.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 DylansDad (157) - NEW ZEALAND - MAR 25, 2013
Maybe it’s not fresh, but this is a nice beer but pretty subdued, a little timid even. Nice enough but not outstanding
3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 pmuzz (264) - AUSTRALIA - FEB 21, 2013
This beer is deceiving, it both looks great and smells amazing, however, it is all downhill from there. A rather insipid offering with no real punch for an IPA.
Such a shame!
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 bmeup (470) - Ormeau, AUSTRALIA - JAN 25, 2013
Coppery orange, minimal head. Malty citrus aroma. Really hopy bitter taste with lots of resin in the palate. Not overly impressed with this. Fresh stock, best before 18.6.2013. Would interested in other reviews from this batch.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 jonnyguns (384) - - DEC 15, 2012
UPDATED: MAR 31, 2013 Bottle from mane liquor. Pours a deep copper with a fluffy white head. Aromas of grapefruit, floral hops and pine. Taste has caramel malts coming through combining well with the grapefruit and tropical lychee like flavours. All about the grapefruit bitterness in this one! Good beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Big, rambling hops on the nose and mouth - lots of luplin. Tons of citrus pine hops. Very little body really gives this no balance and almost threatens to unseat my enjoyment of this brew. Still it’s good for all your hop needs.
2.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Cantabrian (381) - Christchurch, NEW ZEALAND - NOV 16, 2012
I had this beer side by side with Armaggedon, from the same brewery. This Zythos had a richer, sweeter, grape aroma, that stirs my interest in these very hoppy IPA. Appearance was just copperish, translucent, not too atractive. And the taste was not much more interesting. Lacking complexity and just with that announced bitter hoppiness, it was less than interesting. Disappointing, unless you’re a practicing hophead.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Lunkie (1168) - Glen Iris, AUSTRALIA - NOV 15, 2012
Murky amber colour great head and lacing. Sweet fruity hop malt aroma. Malt fruit hop flavour. Smooth palate.
