3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at the brewery. Poured a deep brown/black color with a moderate off-white head that faded to a ring and left some spotty lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, oats, lights chocolate, and a hint of chalk. Smooth, sweet entry with some light chocolate that leads into a roasted maltiness with a moderate coffee flavor paired with an oat creaminess that lingers into the finish where hints of light chalk and and some light hops peak through the background. Low carbonation and smooth mouth feel. Overall, an average stout, but it still exceeded my expectations in the fact that it wasn’t an overly bland, one dimensional beer.

3.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
On nitro on tap at Mayor of Old Town. Appearance: good thick brown head, black color, average lacing. Aroma: heavy chocolate scent, coffee, cereal. Palate: full body, creamy texture, soft carbonation, rich finish. Taste: milk chocolate sweetness, light bitterness. Overall, I found this to be a delicious stout, however I am sure having it on nitro definitely boosted the appearance and palate scores.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Southern Sun. Pours an opaque brown with a quarter finger of coarse tan head. Settles quickly with some thin lacing. Mildly roasted aroma, roasted oats/grain/malt. Flavor is sweet, toasted oatmeal and grain up front fading into mild dark malt and roasted malt finish. Hints of chocolate/cocoa. Relatively short/clean finish and very sweet throughout. Like a blend between an oatmeal stout and a milk stout. Soft carbonation, medium body, light texture. Very drinkable and smooth. Sweetness drowns out a bit of the flavor profile up front. An enjoyable beer.
