Nebula is an American style stout, aggresively hopped with a distinct coffee-like character. The aroma is citrusy with a strong roastiness. Roasted grains and a resinous hop expression dominate the flavor. A smooth maltiness balances the high hop bittereness. Nebula finishes strong, with a rich mouthfeel.

On tap at the brewery. Poured a deep brown/black color with a moderate tan head that faded to a ring and left some thick sheets of lacing. Aroma of choclate malt, coffee, amaretto, nuts, and light black licorice. Smooth, sweet entry leads into a moderate roastiness with hints of coffee and chocolate that leads into an aggressive earthy, citrusy hoppiness that finishes lightly bitter with soft hints of chocolate. Low carbonation and smooth, slick mouth feel. Overall, the description may sound a tad oppositional, but the balance it creates is quite enjoyable. It isn’t overly complex, but it’s certainly enjoyable and drinkable.

On tap at Equinox poured a clear dark brown nearly black with a small lingering tan head. Aromas of roasted malt, coffee, light chocolate and light licorice. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of coffee, roasted malt, light cocoa and a hint of licorice with a smooth lingering roasty finish.
