COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sunrise Golden Ale is our lightest beer, but don’t let that fool you. The malt is clean, light and crisp, with a slight sweetness. The aroma captures the distinct graininess of pilsner malt. Cascade and Mt. Hood hops balance the sweetness, contributing a slight citrus / spicy character. In the finish, the hops give way to a light maltiness. Overall, refreshing and clean, yet somewhat complex.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear golden-yellow color with a thin white head that faded to a bubbly ring. Aroma of grain, cereal, and a light earthy hoppiness, but all were muted. Smooth, lightly sweet entry with some soft toasted grain and cereal that leads into a lightly bitter, earthy hoppiness with a soft leafiness that finished with a soft graham cracker sweetness. Moderate carbonation and crisp mouth feel. I think I really need to retry this one, as I think my allergies were messing with my sense of smell pretty good. It was a decent, drinkable beer, it was just a tad bland, although I usually love simple, crisp, drinkable beers.

Pour is clear yellow with white head, aroma has notes of grain, biscuit, grass, hints of spice and earth notes to it. Taste is fairly simple but the flavors are all nice, some bitter grass and earth notes, hints of biscuit and hay, finishing a bit harsh on the palate but fairly decent for the style.

On a recent trip to Fort Collins with friends, we had the opportunity to try this one on tap at the brewery. The first adjective that comes to mind here is boring. Poured a nice golden color with a bit of white head. Aromas of biscuit and light hops. On the palate, this one was light bodied, with flavors of biscuit and light hops.

Tap @ Choice City Butcher & Deli. Clear golden with a pure white head. Malty aroma with zesty citrus and spicy hops. The flavor is full and malty without being sweet, the bitterness from the hops balance the beer perfectly. Light body with average carbonation and a crisp, dry, refreshing finish. Really good for the style, one of the best Golden Ales I’ve had. The perfect session beer.
