On tap at the brewery. Poured a hazy, vibrant yellow color with a thin white head that faded to a ring and left some spotty lacing. Aroma of wheat, citrus fruit, clove, pepper, and banana. Smooth, creamy entry with some moderate citrus fruit leads into a creamy wheatiness offset by a moderate spiciness (clove, pepper) and light banana that linger into a creamy finish with soft undertones of drying hops peaking through. Low carbonation and full, creamy mouth feel. Overall, it’s a solid hefe that definitely shows some of the traditional characteristics, it just doesn’t live up to some of the german examples.

Pour on tap at the brewery, hazy yellow with thin white head, aroma brought notes of slight biscuit, bread and yeast, spice comes out, slight clove and banana but fairly restrained, slightly acidic lemon notes as well in there. Taste is a mix of lemon, banana and clove, spice comes through as well, touch of yeast and bread malts, hints of acidic malts finish fairly dry.

(Draught) Pours a cloudy yellow body with a medium white head and descent lacing. Aroma of banana, peach, apricot, and clove. Flavor of banana, wheat, coriander, and citrus.

On tap at the brewery. Pours with a muddy yellow hued body with a big and lasting white head. Aromas are grassy and grainy with some banana esters. Flavors are grainy, grassy, waxy, phenols, plasticy, and grainy. Lively bubbles, dry and a bit astringent from the malt. Odd malt bill flavors on this hefe.

(draft at CO state fair Foamfest, 8/28/10). Cloudy gold color. Small off white head. Moderate clove and banana aroma. Flavor of the same, with moderate wheat and light sweet malt. Avg duration. Smooth finish. Slick texture. Moderate carbonation. Fair lacing.

On a recent trip to Fort Collins with friends, we had the opportunity to try this one on tap at the brewery. Poured a cloudy yellow color with a big white head. Aromas of yeast, banana and clove. On the palate, light bodied, with flavors of bananas, yeast and clove.

On tap with Andrew, Carla and Natasha. Pours a hazy yellow with white foam. Smells of banana. Tastes creamy and heavily of banana with hints of clove.

A bone dry hefe, just like I like ’em - turbid pour that lacks much of a head - taste is moderately tangy, with only mild clove - most of the phenols lean toward the peppery, spicy side, which is fine by me - moderate yeastiness - notes of sage - tangy lemon - moderate acidity - decent.

UPDATED: APR 21, 2012 On tap @ Equinox. Milky, cloudy, light yellow-orange appearance with a white head. Yeasty, citrusy nose with hints of banana and clove. Slightly sour, slightly grainy light wheat flavor with a considerable yeast taste as well as cloves. Mildly tart, yeasty, light wheat finish. Drinkable and smooth, just a little disappointing.

Tap at Equinox. Pours hazy gold with an average, frothy cream colored head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (grainy, hay, straw), light hops (earthy), average esters (banana, citrus) with notes of coriander and ginger. Flavor is heavy malt (grainy, hay, straw), light hops (earthy), average esters (banana, citrus) with notes of clove, coriander, and ginger. Medium body, low warmth, high carbonation, medium creaminess, and a medium sweet finish.
