A weizen brewed in traditional Bavarian style. With a relatively simple malt and hop bill, the yeast makes all the difference here, providing most of the flavor and aroma. The yeast contributes a distinct banana/clove aroma and flavor, making for a refreshing and surprisingly complex beer. The use of Melanoiden Malt and Acidulated Malt provides a subtle richness and tart finish

On tap at the brewery. Poured a hazy, vibrant yellow color with a thin white head that faded to a ring and left some spotty lacing. Aroma of wheat, citrus fruit, clove, pepper, and banana. Smooth, creamy entry with some moderate citrus fruit leads into a creamy wheatiness offset by a moderate spiciness (clove, pepper) and light banana that linger into a creamy finish with soft undertones of drying hops peaking through. Low carbonation and full, creamy mouth feel. Overall, it’s a solid hefe that definitely shows some of the traditional characteristics, it just doesn’t live up to some of the german examples.

Cloudy hazy gold with a thin Rocky white cap. Musty wheaty doughy aroma with light clove and even lighter banana. Flavor is the same; doughy, clovey, lots of wheat. Light and crisp but with a doughy flavor.

Growler from Equinox. Appearance: yellow orange color, cloudy, small white head, great lacing. Aroma: spice, coriander, light caramel, light fruity notes. Palate: light body, average carbonation, somewhat dry finish, slightly oily texture. Taste: sweet throughout with very slight astringent finish. Overall, nothing impressive, but drinkable and pretty.

Faint aroma of wheat and lemon. Color is a light cloudy yellow. Not attractive. Palate is light and average carbonation. Flavors are grainy wheat and citrus. They don’t blend well and leave an artificial aftertaste. This beer needs some work.

Looks lovely, cloudy pinapple color with a small white head. Faint aroma, mostly citrus. Very light bodied, notes of banana and lemon. Summery for sure
