33 cl bottle. Orange colour with a weak head. Aroma of orange and hint of wheat. Very yasty flavour with notes of wheat and malt. Reminds me of a combintion of wheat and pilsner, just without any bitterness at the end.

Hazy orange color, small fast diminishing head. Lively carbonation. Kind of sweet banana, orange nose. Very light, a bit yeasty. Also light banana taste - not much body.

Not much champ over this one. hazy yellowish colour with a small fully diminishing head. Highly carbonated. Unsually bad for an Erdinger.

Bottled. Hayzy light yellow, rich creamy white head. I’m sad to say that it smelled like dishwater. couldn smell fruits or anything, hopefully I’m catching a cold. You can taste wheat and some hops with a sweetish aftertaste. Quite uniteresting though!

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
(bottle) Hazy yellow colour with a medium-sized frothy, slightly off-white unstable head. Dry yeasty and dense fruity aroma. Initially wheat-malty taste with banana and pear; light bodied, lively carbonated; dry and very slim fruity and malty finish, slightly tart. Boring and uninspiring Weizen without the typical clovy spice.

This is hefeweizen that doesn’t need a glass. Normally hefeweizen is poured into a glass and the yeast is rousted with a swirl of the bottle and then poured in. You can do that with Erdinger Champ, but you don’t have to. The bottle is designed so this beer is ready "to drink straight from the bottle". There is a dye cut into the bottom of the glass that fits the crown of another bottle. You stick one bottle into the dye of the bottom of another bottle, and roust the yeast by giving the bottles a few quick turns. This rousts the yeast, and you can drink your Erdinger Champ straight from the bottle. Nice, if you are in a pinch, and have no glassware, but I enjoy seeing the beauty of a hefeweizen, as well as drinking it.
Erdinger Champ when chosen to be poured into a weiss glass pours to a beautiful, hazy, bright golden color with a rocky and dense white head, and a very vibrant carbonation. The nose is crisp and fruity with aromas of malted wheat, pear, banana, and slight spicy clove aromas. The palate is firm with lots of really good tart wheat malt flavors, and some estery fruity notes. Erdinger Champ finishes with more wheaty and estery flavors with a delicious banana and clove taste that lingers.
This is an outstanding hefeweizen, and a classic example of the style. I tried a few straight from the bottle, but I really think the best way to enjoy hefeweizen is in a proper weiss glass. This is a tart, fruity, crisp and refreshing beer, that makes a perfect warm weather thirst quencher. Try this after a little yard work, or match it with a late morning brunch of weiss wurst sausages.

Bottle. Damn twistcap nearly tore my finger off. Oh well. Pours a very cloudy deep gold, with a tragically short-lived small, white head.
Sweet aroma of yeast and mild hops.
An exceptionally bland hefe this... flavor is fairly sweet, faintly yeasty, but without any noticable character whatsoever. There’s a hint of hops in the finish, that somehow turns into a buttery sweetness in the aftertaste.
An uninspired, uninspiring weissbier. Nicely fresh though. Kind of like a cross between pale lager and hefe.

Hazy amber body. Short-lived head. Yeasty and slightly acidic; artificial sweetness. I didn’t expect much more form a beer bottle with a twist-cap...
