Ungstrup (11713), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 25, 2002 An unclear very yellow beer with almost no head and an almost nonexisting aroma. It tastes slightly of wheat - but only slightly - if I want a main stream wheat beer I don’t want this one. Overall a below average beer - nothing to speak of - drink it for quencing your thirst not for a beer experience. Papsoe (11076), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 10, 2005 (Bottle 33 cl) Rarely - if ever - did I get a German Hefe in a 33 cl bottle, and also with the bottom designed to be a cap opener. All gadgets aside, this is still a beer. Hazy, deep orange beer with a surprisingly weak head. You really get confused as to whether this really is a Weissbier, as you don’t get any of the wonderful, fruity esters that categorize the style. A Hefe in looks only. Why? Not unpleasant, just bland. 200501 omhper (10950), Stockholm, Sweden Mar 3, 2002 Dark yellow and hazy. Buttery but clean and unassertive. Erdinger is like the Bud Light of hefeweizens.
yespr (7817), Copenhagen O, Denmark Mar 17, 2007 33 cL bottle. Pours unclear yellow/orange with white head. Aroma is wheat and yeast but rather little aroma. Taste is wheat and sweet, lemon notes. Rather dry finish. Oakes (7032), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Oct 16, 2004 Hazy tan colour, with a weak head. Fine but plentiful carbonation. Clean aroma for a wheat - slightly wheaty, slightly malty. I’d call it American in style as there is no hint of phenol nor ester. Finish is mainly watery. Another half-assed weissbier from Erdinger. I’m so glad I was able to follow this up with my last bottle of Zentrumsbier Weizen, China’s best kept beer secret.
