COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Erdinger Champ is the ideal lifestyle wheat beer: it’s brewed in such a way that it can be drunk straight from the bottle, but without compromising Erdinger’s legendary flavor and high quality standards. The 0.33-liter longneck bottle with its unique opening mechanism emphasizes the lifestyle character of the new beer. In addition to its twist-open cap, the innovative bottle also features an integrated opener on the bottom for extra convenience. Simply place one Erdinger Champ on top of another to twist open the bottom bottle. As you can see, it’s always best to order two bottles and enjoy Erdinger Champ in company! With its fine yeast, Erdinger Champ has the character of a classic Bavarian wheat beer. The yeast gives the beer is natural, slightly cloudy appearance. Erdinger Champ - pure wheat beer enjoyment straight from the bottle.

Banana and pineapple aromas. Small head and cloudy yellow (but this isn’t designed to go into a glass I suppose). Wheaty, yeasty and lightly banana with a hint of clove. Suprisingly good thick enough mouthfeel.

White head, hazy yellow bodu, malty-fruity, but not especially appealing. Rather ordinary in fact

Bottled. Hayzy light yellow, rich creamy white head. I’m sad to say that it smelled like dishwater. couldn smell fruits or anything, hopefully I’m catching a cold. You can taste wheat and some hops with a sweetish aftertaste. Quite uniteresting though!

wtf? This is a wheat beer?! Poured cloudy pale gold, with no head whatsoever. Slight hoppy aroma, with none of the typical banana. I would have sworn that I was drinking a pilsener if I was blind tasting. The flavour is pretty ordinary, bit of everything but not much of anything. Pretty weak really, so much so that my non beer-drinking wife liked this one - enough said.

Review based on the BJCP2008 guidelines (style 15A). Bottle 33 cl - Batch L122108. AROMA: faint wheat aroma mixed with somekind of initial DMS and some citric notes. very low to no esters and no hop aromas. APPEARANCE: pale straw and hazy. thin white head with very poor retention. TASTE: watered down wheat flavour without perceptible esters. low bitterness with a sweet finish. PALATE: medium body with medium-low carbonation. OVERALL: a very poor and watered down weizen.

Tasted 2008-01-28. Fresh bottle. Pours unclear, greyish yellow with white head. The foam dissolves quite fast leaving a very ugly beer. Rich, malty aroma. Tastes like a pilsner with a bit of wheat! It’s good, but it doesn’t really impress me.

Really not bad for a small Weizen that can be drunk from the bottle. I had it in a glass but it was clear that the Heffe had been spread evenly. The taste is relatively good, one gets the Erdinger taste in small.

Bottle, ok for a screw to it was cool, for a beer it was way to light, whats with these breweries putting out really light tasteless or bad tasting wheat beers. This one had a touch of off putting sourness to it.

Pale golden. Unclear. White short head. Almost no aroma. Very mild flavour. Yeast. A hint of citrus. A hoppy note in the finish. Watery palate. WHAT A SHAME.
