A wheat beer from the good old days.
Erdinger Weissbier ’dark’ is a rich and smooth wheat beer specialty from Erdinger Weissbräu. It owes its full-bodied flavor to the fine hops and dark malt used in its production.
The dark beer specialty is brewed according to an age-old recipe. Its spicy flavor also results from the increased proportion (about 13%) of original wort. Nonetheless, at 5.3%, it doesn’t contain much more alcohol than Erdinger Weissbier ’with fine yeast’.

50cl at Politiker’n, Oslo. Pours hazy dark brown with a lasting light beige head. Mild malty and caramelly aroma with lightly roasty notes and hints of fruits and yeast. Medium sweet with fairly mild flavours and just a hint of acidity. Hardly interesting, but fairly drinkable.

Pours deep, rich amber in color with a frothy pale head. Like most weizens, this is a beautiful beer to look at. Not much going on with the nose, breathing deep from the glass doesn't give away much. Flavor is light and crisp, but not heavy on any one note in particular. Extremely low IBU is up front. The subtleties were revealed after lingering with a few sips; roasted malt and some fruitiness. This is not an in your face beer, but is well rounded. Would buy again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a gorgeous dark brown color that you can’t see much through with a great head. Aroma is malty, yeasty bread, caramel, dried fruits, weak hops. Taste is yeast bread and caramel up front with good dried fruits, some bitter chocolate, roasty delicious with a nice hop bitter that isn’t too strong for the finish. Great beer, easily sessionable, perfect example of a dunkel hefe.

Quickly disappearing beige top. Cloudy opaque brown colour. Pretty much light, but delicate and pleasant with fresh carbonation. Malty biscuit, lightly sweet, almost no bitterness. Easy drinking beer.
