A wheat beer from the good old days.
Erdinger Weissbier ’dark’ is a rich and smooth wheat beer specialty from Erdinger Weissbräu. It owes its full-bodied flavor to the fine hops and dark malt used in its production.
The dark beer specialty is brewed according to an age-old recipe. Its spicy flavor also results from the increased proportion (about 13%) of original wort. Nonetheless, at 5.3%, it doesn’t contain much more alcohol than Erdinger Weissbier ’with fine yeast’.

Pours deep, rich amber in color with a frothy pale head. Like most weizens, this is a beautiful beer to look at. Not much going on with the nose, breathing deep from the glass doesn't give away much. Flavor is light and crisp, but not heavy on any one note in particular. Extremely low IBU is up front. The subtleties were revealed after lingering with a few sips; roasted malt and some fruitiness. This is not an in your face beer, but is well rounded. Would buy again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a gorgeous dark brown color that you can’t see much through with a great head. Aroma is malty, yeasty bread, caramel, dried fruits, weak hops. Taste is yeast bread and caramel up front with good dried fruits, some bitter chocolate, roasty delicious with a nice hop bitter that isn’t too strong for the finish. Great beer, easily sessionable, perfect example of a dunkel hefe.

Quickly disappearing beige top. Cloudy opaque brown colour. Pretty much light, but delicate and pleasant with fresh carbonation. Malty biscuit, lightly sweet, almost no bitterness. Easy drinking beer.

500 ml bottle from Sobeys Liquor, served in a tall wheat beer glass. Pours an opaque deep brown with a towering, thick, moussey, mocha-hued cap that leaves rings of lace. Aroma is deeply toasted malts with herbal hops, light sweet caramel, and vinous fruits underneath. Tiny hints of banana. Flavor features dark, bittersweet malt, with hints of dark chocolate chips embedded in banana with a breath of caramel, and light winey berries. Slightly thick, creamy, and with a clean finish. Just indulgent enough and doesn’t overwhelm in any aspect. Very, very good!

Oto przykład, że zwykłe piwo może być tak inne od pozostałych. Wystarczył dodatek palonych słodów i od razu w smaku i aromacie pojawiły się nuty czekolady i palone. Doskonałe.

Copenhagen 28/4 2015. 50 cl bottle from Føtex. Pours hazy brown with big foamy head. Very slow in settling. Not much aroma. A little wheat malts. Soft carbonation. Taste is sweet - a little chokolade - and malty wheat. Short sweet aftertaste. No hops around here.

Fľaša 0,5 l zo supermarketu. Tmavá farba, nahnedlá hustá pena, príjemná aróma. Stredná rezkosť, jemne nahorklá chuť, na konci pražená káva a horká čokoláda. Príjemné pitie.
