COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned.
Ingredients: Water; wheat malt; barley malt; roasted malt; hops; yeast.
Name changed from Erdinger Weissbier Dunkel to Erdinger Dunkel, and abv changed from 5.6% to 5.3% by 2012.
A wheat beer from the good old days.
Erdinger Weissbier ’dark’ is a rich and smooth wheat beer specialty from Erdinger Weissbräu. It owes its full-bodied flavor to the fine hops and dark malt used in its production.
The dark beer specialty is brewed according to an age-old recipe. Its spicy flavor also results from the increased proportion (about 13%) of original wort. Nonetheless, at 5.3%, it doesn’t contain much more alcohol than Erdinger Weissbier ’with fine yeast’.

0,5 l bottle. Opaque dark brown in the glass, huge light tanned head. Low fruity malt on the nose. Starts very dry malty, less fruity. Little bit bitterness, coffie hints, nearly bready. Not that typical wheat summer beer, but a nice one.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with a big off-white head that quickly turns into a thin, creamy layer and leaves a very little bit of lacing on the glass. The aroma has sweet malts and a hint of fresh wheat. The taste is slightly sour with wheat, slightly sweet too. No bitterness. The palate is slightly watery, overall quite a boring beer.

Znowu czekolada – i tutaj dominuje.

Bottle, 500mL. Home. Trade with @Jaghana. Merci! A dark brown beer with a medium beige head poorly persistent. Roasty aroma, acid note, toffee. Light sweet, light to medium dry bitter refreshing, acid note. Light to medium body, thin texture, fizzy carbonation, short roasty finish. Overall, OK roasty grain aroma, refreshing, thin.

Had this on tap at Wolf’s Biergarten in Schenectady,NY, and really liked it. I went to a beverage store but they didn’t carry the Dunkelweiss so I purchased a couple other Dunkelweiss products and will try those.

Dunkel style is not my favourite for wheat beers. Even though this one has a good taste it has nothing to do with the Hefe style one in quallity, not being so high. Anyway it is not a bad beer, toasted colour and great taste, a bit poor head by fact.

500 ml bottle. Spicy dark smell. Dark color with a big clear brown head. The carbonatation looks very unnatural. Sweet coffe taste with a soft aftertaste. A very creamy beer, but if im not having a dessert, i’ll preffer the Hefeweizen
