COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned.
Ingredients: Water; wheat malt; barley malt; roasted malt; hops; yeast.
Name changed from Erdinger Weissbier Dunkel to Erdinger Dunkel, and abv changed from 5.6% to 5.3% by 2012.
A wheat beer from the good old days.
Erdinger Weissbier ’dark’ is a rich and smooth wheat beer specialty from Erdinger Weissbräu. It owes its full-bodied flavor to the fine hops and dark malt used in its production.
The dark beer specialty is brewed according to an age-old recipe. Its spicy flavor also results from the increased proportion (about 13%) of original wort. Nonetheless, at 5.3%, it doesn’t contain much more alcohol than Erdinger Weissbier ’with fine yeast’.

Bottle. Dark brown with frothy beige head. Fairly insipid aromas of roasted malt and wheat. Good mix of chocolate, coffee and toasted malts integrated well with the wheat and citrus blossom hops. An enjoyable sweetness throughout the beer which is cleaned up with an inviting hop finish, begging to be drunk in multiple steins.

had a liter of this at the bar tonight simply because I couldn’t resist the free stein it came in, but that being said it was better than I remember. Pour is dark, dark brown with a frothy beige cap. Nose is caramel/toffee and toasted grain. Taste is caramel, ripe, dark fruit, a bit of toasted grain. The finish is surprisingly crisp without being discernibly dry - just enough to balance the sweet malt, and make this surprisingly drinkable.

Coloração marrom escura, turva, com espuma bege, bolhas grandes e pouco persistente. Aroma forte de pão e malte. Gosto de pão, caramelo, malte, é possível identificar o tostado no final. Gosto leve, com final levemente amargo e seco. Corpo leve com drinkability razoável.

Bottle 500ml. Wonderful , cappuccino color foam which lasts a good while. Taste is rather disappointing, a bit watery, some hints of dark, roast bread. Nothing stays on palate, good for once.

0,5 bottle purchased and consumed in Serbia. Very dark brown colour, almost black, frothy cappuccino foamy head which relatively fast lowers. Nose of roasted malts, light notes of grain. Mouth: watery overall taste, high carbonation, wheat notes and very gassy. Not my beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Väldigt mörk, med ett stabilt skum. Ganska mycket kola eller melass i smaken. Ganska söt.

Pours a deep brown color with a sweet malt aroma. Taste is simple with a mild caramel flavor. Notes of fruit and dates in the beer with a slight bitter aftertaste. A smooth drinkable beer that was enjoyable for the style.
