Name changed from Erdinger Weissbier Dunkel to Erdinger Dunkel, and abv changed from 5.6% to 5.3% by 2012.
A wheat beer from the good old days.
Erdinger Weissbier ’dark’ is a rich and smooth wheat beer specialty from Erdinger Weissbräu. It owes its full-bodied flavor to the fine hops and dark malt used in its production.
The dark beer specialty is brewed according to an age-old recipe. Its spicy flavor also results from the increased proportion (about 13%) of original wort. Nonetheless, at 5.3%, it doesn’t contain much more alcohol than Erdinger Weissbier ’with fine yeast’.

Purchased from Leary’s for $3. Single bottle. Pours a murky mahogany dark brown with a thin tanned head. Smells fairly roasted and of caramels, wet oak, pear skins and tobacco. Tastes the same. Mint and dandelions by swallow. Hmmm... decent.

La weiss scura della erdinger, molto buona davvero, molta schiuma, sapore weiss unito a caramello, ricca carbonazione. Promossa nel suo genere.

Hazy dark nutty brown with a thin foamy light tan cap. Faintish aroma of chocolate wheat and a light note of yeast spice. Delightful quaffable medium-full body with decently semisweet earthy cocoa and wheatiness. A bit clean at first but towards the end of the taste theres a nice chocolaty whisper with light wheaty backgrounds.

Dark amber reddish colour with compact purple head. Aroma od wheat, bananas and plums. The same is the taste. Good, drinkable beer, but still average in comparison with the best examples of this style.

Mörkbrun med stort vit skum. Doftar och smakar lite mörk karamellmalt. Som en weisbier men lite mer karamellmalt
