A wheat beer from the good old days.
Erdinger Weissbier ’dark’ is a rich and smooth wheat beer specialty from Erdinger Weissbräu. It owes its full-bodied flavor to the fine hops and dark malt used in its production.
The dark beer specialty is brewed according to an age-old recipe. Its spicy flavor also results from the increased proportion (about 13%) of original wort. Nonetheless, at 5.3%, it doesn’t contain much more alcohol than Erdinger Weissbier ’with fine yeast’.

Bottle from Brewery Creek poured into a Schneider Flaschengarung. Clear mahogany brown with good carbonation and a two-finger, cappuccino head. Moderate clove and banana nose with vanilla and bready malt. Low banana and clove flavor with moderate vanilla, caramel, and some breadiness; medium malty richness; low hop bitterness; slightly sweet palate with low tart citrus and relatively dry finish. A good example of a classic Dunkelweizen.

0.5 L boca, meni prosječno pivo, kao i od svijetlog očekivao sam više, slabija aroma, također i kratkog okusa u ustima

Banana, yeast, dark brown/reddish with a huge and rocky tan head, light/medium body, medium carbonation, quite sweet, fruits, malts and spices...very good and refreshing.

I do not wax on poetically about beer but I do know the quality of a beer once tasted. This review is not about my tastes but reinforces the numbers, which are arbitrary.

Nutty brown in colour and very much creamy head. Tastes of dark malt, coffee light caramel. Medium-light body, to much carbonation, watery mouthfeel. Not the best

From Hipercor. In Bavaria glass. Reviewing CSHTP6 Ch4. Very balanced, without the sweetness of others in its style. Great carbonation, with a lasting foam and not bothering the sip. High drinkability. Its only handicap is that its so balanced that its lacks something that stand out specially

Is it a slightly spice-y Weizen, or just mildly mocca-infused seawater or drain water? Creamier (and has more body and soul than) – but not a million miles away from – Negra Modelo, por ejemplo. Bit disappointing from a German big gun, but mildly better than its standard Weissbier (sampled simultaneously).

UPDATED: APR 3, 2016 500ml bottle. Better than the white erdinger but still pedestrian for a German beer. Not great but decent.
