Dark yellow slightly unclear beer with a very beutiful head. The aroma is faint but of fruit and wheat. The flavor is fresh, slightly sour as wheatbeers with malted wheat usually is - but this is only slight. It has a distinct wheat flavor - the alcohol doesn’t show in the flavor. Probably the strongest wheatbeer I’ve ever tasted. A very nice and refreshing beer.

(Bottle 33 cl) Comes as "Erdinger Oktoberfest Weizen". Lightly hazy amber golden with a delicate, creamy head. Malty, soft lightly caramelish aroma. Extremely smooth mouthfeel. Light, malty flavour with some wheaty notes, but without the typical notes of citrus and banana normally found in a Hefe. Lacks a bit of personality, but still this is an interesting and pleasant brew. 131005

50 cL bottle as Oktoberfest Weissbier. Pours hazy golden orange with a huge and creamy off-white head. Aroma is of wheat and somewhat malty. Creamy texture. Flavour is wheaty with a decent caramel malt base. Dry wheaty notes but not really with esters as such as the caramel/biscuit malt seems to take that out. Medium dry finish.

Bottled (as Oktoberfest Weissbier, thanks omhper!). Deep hazy golden colour, big creamy beige head. Aroma is wheat, hops and some malts. Flavour is malts, hops and wheat in a quite obscure mix. Very experimental, and drinkable.
1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 8/20 omhper (15964) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - SEP 5, 2007
UPDATED: JAN 29, 2008 Bottled (as Erdinger Oktoberfest Weißbier). Cloudy pale orange, brief head. Aroma of plastic. Sweet with hard, sparkling mouthfeel. Some very light clove character, but mostly plastic. Whea and vanilla hides behind. No bitterness. Simplistic and pointless. None of the refreshing characteristics the real hefeweizens have. Typical Erdinger.

Cloudy gold with full white lasting head. Wheat & banana - light sweetness. Lively carbonation. Dry end. Very close to the regular Erdinger, a bit more muddy perhaps!
