COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Lovers of strong beer need not worry that ERDINGER Weissbier Pikantus 'dark bock beer' is going to be too sweet, as is the case with so many bock beers. Despite the higher alcohol content, the Erding brew masters have succeeded in retaining the special Pikantus taste.

fantti (633) - FINLAND - MAR 5, 2014

Maltainen hieman makea tuoksu. Maussa mausteisuutta ja karamellisuutta, vehnäisyyskin tulee hyvin esiin. Maukas ja miellyttävä, hieman hapan jälkimaku. Miellyttävä kokonaisuus.

mabel (5371) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 20, 2014
[5367-20130520] 500mL bottle. Toasted caramelized fig aroma. Slightly hazy, dark brown amber body with a medium-lasting creamy light tan head. More toasted caramel and figgy fruit flavour is not overly sweet, which is often the case with this style. Medium-full body. Tasty, quite drinkable. (6/3/7/4/14) 3.4

Hazy brown beer with big blonde persistent head. Aroma is faint with bubblegum and banana. Flavor is sweet with ripe banana and dark sugar, malty and spicy. As the beer warms up the flavors and aromas get more intense but also alcohol starts coming through. The finish is quite long and bitter with lots of alcohol. Medium full. Not the most complex or enjoyable weizenbock.

(Bottle, 0,5 l -BBE 11/2014, from Alko, 20140306) The beer poured dark brown and cloudy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had malts, caramel and ripe banana. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, sweetness, caramel, hint of grass and low bitterness. Aftertaste was malty, sweet and bitter. A weak weizenbock. Clean.

Aroma: caramel, hay malts, yeast. Appearance: hazy dark brown, medium to big white to beige head. Taste: light to medium sweet. Palate: foamy sweets coming up, average-short finish, medium carbonation. Overall: nice Dunkler Weizenbock, could be more pronounced in both, aroma and palate. Bottle from Beer Hawk, England.

Turboninja (79) - Tampere, FINLAND - FEB 28, 2014
Medium aroma with some chocolate and raisin. Hazy dark brown appearance with medium light brown head. Quite strong taste with some toffee, banana and a hint of malts. Medium taste spectrum and medium aftertaste. Alcohol comes trough a bit and there is a strange flavor of wax. Medium thick palate and medium carbonation. All and all very good weizen bock unless that vaxy flavor.
