3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Murky brown pour with large creamy tan head. Rich, chocolate raisiny nose with a hint of yeast. Creamy burnt chocolate maltiness with hints of banana, dark fruit. Finished with a woodsy dryness and some mellow wheatiness after the swallow. An interesting brew. My first taste in this style. The chocolate maltiness and the smooth wheaty taste seem to be at odds. For now thought Erdinger’s seems to have bokered a peace treaty. For the rest of us it is simply a treat.

Pint bottle. Poured a brown color with a nice beige head that lasted throughout. Taste of banana, clove and sweet malts. Medium carbonation, medium body. Alcohol hidden deceptively well.

Slight foam that quickly disipates. Medium-body, dark brown, completely opaque and medium carbonation. Intense aroma with sweet notes of fresh bread, candy, chocolate, banana and spices likse clove.
The taste is very close to it’s aroma aroma, noting with some vanilla tastes and a balanced bitterness.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Dark brown color, with nice, dense and long lasting head. Very noticeable the toasted wheat, some notes of toasted caramel, banana, dry fruits and very spicy. The body is medium, texture oily, nice carbonation and the aftertaste is sweet, spicy and long.

4.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
It pours dark very brown and orange with a large head, dissipates quickly but maintains a thin coverage. The aroma is dark fruits, tastes of raisin and mild aniseed, slight bitterness comes in late. It’s incredibly smooth and creamy in the mouth, very light despite 7.3% abv, not too sweet.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
One of the best Bock beers I have tried. I bought one bottle on a whim and was immediately pleased after the first taste. Pleasant, inviting aroma and a taste to match. Easy to drink with a clean finish. The 7.3% doesn’t hurt either. Anyone who is a fan of dark brown ales and Belgians will not be disappointed with this one.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Brown color, average sized tan head. Full body, average to high carbonation. Aroma is very interesting and intense. At first there’s a feeling of a Belgian Dubbel with malts, dark fruits (maybe raspberries) and yeast and underneath that there’s a familiar wheat and banana aroma. Taste is pleasantly sweet. Very interesting beer.
