COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Lovers of strong beer need not worry that ERDINGER Weissbier Pikantus 'dark bock beer' is going to be too sweet, as is the case with so many bock beers. Despite the higher alcohol content, the Erding brew masters have succeeded in retaining the special Pikantus taste.

0,5l bottle. Very hazy chocolate brown colour with quickly disappearing tan head. Aroma: Caramel, chocolate, honey, nuts, fruits. Taste: Sweet malty start with a light bitterness. It’s like a light and watery barley wine. Lively carbonation with light/medium body. Very short sweet finish. Best from the brewey.

UPDATED: APR 4, 2016 Excelente weizenbock, aroma de banana e cravo, típico do estilo. Ótima formação de espuma, coloração marrom escura. Saborosa e com presença do álcool perceptível.

Coffe brown colour with lasting, beige head. Nose: Malt, dark caramel, butter caramel and some yeast. Taste: Quite creamy with rich carbonation. Malt and coffee. Despite a slight touch of sweetness it’s quite dry. Is it lacking a bit in personality or am I just unfairly comparing this industrially produced wheat bock to more expensive and complex craft beers...?

0,5 l Flasche.

Dark and hazy caramel colour with the enormous and stable light beige top. Full body, creamy strong malt flavor and caramelized almonds. Some dried fruits also, spicy. Sweet, but not to much. Very nice aroma. Slightly phenolic. Medium-high carbonation, powerful and special drink. Well hidden alcohol. Delicious.

Meget positivt overrasket over denne

Bottle. Unlike its name suggests, it’s not a spicy example of the style. Almost no phenols nor banana notes. Instead there are apples and plums on a sweet malt base comprised of caramel and subtle chocolate notes. Not too chewy, albeit with a light spicy (finally) note in the finish breaking through the sweetness. Very good.
