COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Lovers of strong beer need not worry that ERDINGER Weissbier Pikantus 'dark bock beer' is going to be too sweet, as is the case with so many bock beers. Despite the higher alcohol content, the Erding brew masters have succeeded in retaining the special Pikantus taste.

Bottle. Pours cloudy opaque deep cola brown with big light tan head, vanishing to a 5mm full frothy coverage. Sweet malt aromas support banana and light clove notes. Light bready dough and grains also. Medium body, light noble bitterness, big sweetness, medium high carbonation, finishing malty sweet -munich malts, chocolate, bready doughy yeast, light banana and clove. Satisfying brew.

"the last reviewer nailed this "Flavours are a little more subtle than say, Schneider Aventinus, but the same flavours are there." This brewer seems like the minor league version of the best...everything’s there, just not done quite as well. good, doughy and spicy aroma and flavor. hit the spot for the style, though it falls shy of elite."

Beige foam crown, brown hazy body, lacings almost none. Aroma; sweet brown caramel malts, dusty grass, raisins, nut collection, toffeefee. Taste; dark sweet caramel malts, dark brown syrup, crispy dusty hops, small prunes, nuts, herbs. Lively carbonated, maybe too much, almost normal body. Short finish. Overall easy to drink.

Bottle. Pours murky brown with big, but short lasting tan head. Aroma is yeast, malt, ripe banana, caramel and slight toast. Some spice. Taste is sweet, caramel, and easy toasty finish and hint of bitterness from the roasted malt. Creamy but relatively light body.

Very strong malty aroma with hints of coffee. The appearence is also very classy, with a brown hazy colour. The taste is medium bitter. The palate is creamy, staying a while in your mouth before it goes away, very nice. Overall it is mainly a winter Bock, that stands out in terms of flavour and palate. Very secure choice, at all times.

On bottle from Vinmonopolet in Norway, on order. An unrated revisit to a beer I hada cold winter day in Berlin years ago. Obviously, I wasnt freezing today and did not need the warmth of a strong beer- so I was a little disappointed, but that is the social factor... Dark brown color, ok foam. Fruity aromas, some banana, malt and light spices. Medium body & complexity. On the sweet side, some bitterness- but too sweet for my pallet. Enjoyable

Zapach z butelki: Gruszka z delikatnym goździkiem. Piana: Gęsta i obfita, średniopęcherzykowa. Zapach: Owocowy. Banany, gruszki, truskawki, śliwki. Nuty miodowe. Bardzo delikatny goździk. Smak: Spora podbudowa, słodkawe. Owocowe, kojarzy się z brzoskwiniami, żółtymi, dużymi śliwkami. Sporo skórki chleba i delikatna nuta karmelowa. Delikatna przyprawowość. Tekstura: Gęste, z wyczuwalnym osadem. Nieco lepkie, rozgrzewające w przełyku. Nasycenie: Średnie. Goryczka: Niska, alkoholowa. Pijalność: Nieco powyżej średniej. Przyjemne, deserowe piwo.

Kort ettersmak. Flott balansert men ikke akkurat kompleks.

Typical Weizenbock with beige, thick, compact foam and mahogany brown colour with reddish hue, equally misty. Dark malts in the nose, caramel, faint chocolate, wheat, banana, cloves, sweet paprika, ginger. Soft sweetish taste, caramel, light wheat sourishness, weak roasted, bit coffee-like bitterness in the end with warming alcohol; strong, even a bit harsh carbonation. Combines the full, caramelly sweetness and warming alcohol of a Doppelbock with the wheat sourish freshness of a Weissbier, as expected in this style.
