With a slightly darker color and slightly higher alcohol content than the classic ERDINGER Weissbier 'with fine yeast', the 'winter brew' offers a really pleasant change at the coldest time of the year, a time when we like to treat ourselves to something special. Available between November and February.

This wheat simply is too "round" (nauseating for me) and sweet, and IMO it completely lacks fines and actually also wheat. It reminds me of a boring, strong lager. The bitterness is descent, and after a few sips, it’s even better.

Dark golden with a surprisingly thin head. Aroma is typicly wheaty. Taste is mellow, clean, light, and ends in a faintly dry aftertaste with some faintly spicy notes. Mouthfeel slightly muddy.

Orange unclear with thick white head. Malty fruity aroma. Sweet malty little metallic taste. Wheat & yeast notes. Okay body - okay mouthfeel!

O.5L Bottle. Dark, murky amber color, good lasting head. Very slight wheaty, yeasty aroma. Very light taste, barely noticeable flavors of clove and yeast, slightly creamy. Some bitterness in the finish. Only distinct characteristics are bubbly mouthfeel and a tinge of alcohol.

Bottle: Deep golden to orangey coloured, stable off-white head; wheaty-yeasty nose with some "oaky" hops in the wings; sweetish-sourish flavour, quite light bodied for a beer of 5.6% ABV, soft MF; sweet-malty finish. A bit better rounded than the "normal" Erdinger, but still -as usual - without aroma......

Bottle. Head was average off-white and frothy. Colour was light cloudy orange. Aroma was light wheat, some yeast, fruity, citrus, spicy and some light malty notes. Medium bodied with an average carbonation. Light fresh finish. Noting spectacular.

Deep apricot haze. Clean banana woodiness with a finishing sourish dryness. Lovely, lingering biscuity wheat mellowing things out after the swallow. Just enough Pils-like bitterness to win over the white beer cynic. A definite wisp of smoke. Erdinger’s signature milky smoothness. But is it festively different enough to the standard version?

Nice looking, large head and hazy. Bananas predominate the flavour, there’s not much else going on here though. Quite boring but passable.

Bottle. Darkish golden bit hazy colour with a nice large mostly lasting white head. Nice aroma of wheat, some sweetness, spices and fruity. Flavour is smooth and refreshing, good wheat and yeast to it, some hoppiness, nice banana and some vanilla, medium spiced. Good spicy and wheaty finish.

Hazy deep orange with a thick, fizzy white head. Bread-like aroma with oranges. Slightly metallic with a nice mouthfeel. A touch of coriander and oranges.
