COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With a slightly darker color and slightly higher alcohol content than the classic ERDINGER Weissbier 'with fine yeast', the 'winter brew' offers a really pleasant change at the coldest time of the year, a time when we like to treat ourselves to something special. Available between November and February.

Bottle, 500ml. Hazy golden with a large, frothy offwhite head. Fizzy/watery aromas of cereal, grass, CO2. Medium bodied with moderate to fizzy carbonation. Very malty mouthfeel with little sweetness or bitterness. Almost nonexistent finish. Very disappointing.

Bottled. Not a whole lot wintry about this. Slightly darker and more cloudy than regular erdinger. A nice weisse but otherwise move along....

Het bier is redelijk troebel haast geel/rood kwa kleur. De schuimkraag is zeer stevig en gigantisch groot. Bier smaakt verrassend zacht. Bouquette is licht fruitig.

On the label: "Best before end 08-2015" so it looks like I’m well before that date.

Appearance: Massive carbonation, huge thick white head under a slightly hazy straw yellow body with a waterfall of bubbles.

Aroma: There is a slightly spicy aroma and a slight metallic scent and a huge CO2 bite on the nose from all the carbonation.

Taste: The flavor of tangy wheat rolls onto the tongue at first, followed by a spicy hop flavor.

Mouthfeel: It is a very easy drinking beer. The body is light and there is a slight bitter presence in the beer.

Overall: It felt pretty average, lacking a lot of yeast character in the aroma and flavor that come from drinking a fresh Hefeweizen. For an import it stands up pretty well and is still enjoyable to drink.

Nothing special, just a good weizen.
