With a slightly darker color and slightly higher alcohol content than the classic ERDINGER Weissbier 'with fine yeast', the 'winter brew' offers a really pleasant change at the coldest time of the year, a time when we like to treat ourselves to something special. Available between November and February.

Large bottle at Fontti, Turku. Hazy blond color with large creamy head. Sweet malt and pine twig aroma. Light body brings malty, quite sweet flavors similar to nose. Dry balanced finish with hop notes. Interesting.

Bottle. Yellow hazy. A bit of metallic tones, wheats, but all quite weakly. Body nice medium full soft. Not much bitters, but doesn’t demand it either. But surprisingly bland. As a weiss this is bland. Not watery, just void of flavours.

Bottle. Cloudy deep golden-orange with a big frothy white head. Aroma has mild banana esters, bread, some graininess and a light spicy touch. Sweetish flavor, wheaty, bready, moderately fruity, with some graininess and a mild tart touch. Finishes slightly drier. Medium-bodied. A bit better than regular Erdinger, but not a good Weissbier. Too grainy and bready and not fruity enough. Still OK and pretty easy-drinking.

500 ml bottle @ home.March 03, 2014 Beer from "Vinmonopolet Oslo City", November 2013. Dark golden to orange and cloudy with a white/beige head and medium to full carbonation. Aroma is yeast, malt,a bit fruity, banana and floral. A bit sweet and malty, but also weak and thin. A slightly bittersweet finish. Dead boring beer in my opinion.

Erzengel (2708) - Wuppertal, GERMANY - FEB 28, 2014
The beer starts smooth, slightly malty and a bit more sweet than the normal Erdinger Weißbier. The mainpart is slightly caramelly and a bit sweeter and "darker" than the normal one. The aftertaste is smooth, caramel, clove. Slightly bitter.
Nice, but nothing that special. I like the yeasty-bitter aftertaste. --> 10/12/10/11

Pours a golden color. Has a slight aroma of wheat and fruit. Average taste with only a hint of spices. Great looking bottle.

Slightly skunked aroma of noble hops, grass, and feet. Hazy amber, huge sticky head. Malty, barley and wheat., bready and grassy, somewhat stale. No fruity esters or phenols. Lagerish. Little carbonation remains suspended, post-pour. I’m not sure what this is supposed to be, but Erdinger makes better beer than this.
