2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
500ml bottle. Hazy amber colour with huge, frothy, off-white head. Relatively cautious wheaty aroma, a touch of apple, minimally yeasty overtones. Taste is minimally spicy yeasty, slightly wheaty, a touch of apple, minimally bready. Oddly neutral, cautious, anaemic.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle best before end 08-2014. Nose pretty dulled, lightly yeasty with banana esters and light berry fruitiness. Pours bright golden with strong carbonation and a dense, rocky off-white head. Taste much drier than expected, bready resolution with the prominent flavor being yeast -- really a dispiriting lack of all the awesome flavors I love about Hefeweizen. Medium-full body with plenty of hard carbonation, slightly creamy, but for all the to-do about being darker and stronger, it’s still a dozen shades lighter than Schneider and only 5.6%. Bland.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Half liter bottle from Beer Run, 12/11/13. Funny name! Pours a hazy dark orange color with a large foamy off-white head. Good head retention. Aroma of soft wheat, toast, caramel, a bit of fruitiness. The taste is caramel, wheat, mild spice, mild herbal notes, very faint fruits and an even fainter bit of smoke. Medium bodied, low carbonation, dry, good balance. Exceptional beer.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A: The beer is hazy yellow in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a finger and a half high white head that died down leaving a short head on the surface and some lacing down the sides of the glass. The head has good retention properties. S: Light aromas of yeast are present in the nose, although not much in the way of banana fruits are perceptible. T: The taste is similar to the smell, except that there is less earthiness in the yeast and a little more bananas and lots of wheat. No cloves are perceptible. M: It feels light-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation. O: This beer is easy to drink and you get more of the wheat compared to the bananas.

2.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 7/20
Copper, clear and a big foamy head. Some citrus and sweetness on the nose. Very watery. Vegetables, metal, carbonation, cardboard and alcohol in the taste. Very crispy mouth feel from the carbonation. A big disappointment.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle sampled at a tasting event. From notes. Fruity and floral with a slightly odd malt flavor. Almost like marzipan candy. Good, and I’m glad I tried it, but nothing I would seek out again.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Shared a 50cl bottle from Continente (Portugal). Pours a hazy pale yellow colour with a big white head. Aroma is wheat, banana and light spices. Average carbonation and medium to light body. Taste is more bitter than sweet, but quite watery for a winter beer. Overall, a nice beer but with not much to add to the Erdinger lot.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pour is a cloudy orange with a huge white head. Aroma Is sweet wheat malt and not much else can get past that huge head. Flavor is again wheat malt but not much else. I got no real clove or banana, which I love discovering in a German hefe. This is more of an American wheat then anything German and don’t think this is anything special.
