COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With a slightly darker color and slightly higher alcohol content than the classic ERDINGER Weissbier 'with fine yeast', the 'winter brew' offers a really pleasant change at the coldest time of the year, a time when we like to treat ourselves to something special. Available between November and February.

A: The beer is hazy yellow in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a finger and a half high white head that died down leaving a short head on the surface and some lacing down the sides of the glass. The head has good retention properties. S: Light aromas of yeast are present in the nose, although not much in the way of banana fruits are perceptible. T: The taste is similar to the smell, except that there is less earthiness in the yeast and a little more bananas and lots of wheat. No cloves are perceptible. M: It feels light-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation. O: This beer is easy to drink and you get more of the wheat compared to the bananas. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Moebbels (353) - FINLAND - DEC 17, 2014
Pours a hazy dark orange body with a nice, fluffy head that settles down to a thin layer. Nose has some spiciness, caramel and a hint of yeast. Taste is slightly tart with a medium dry finish. Carbonation is on the low side for a wheat and palate is just above medium. Decent but somewhat harsh and not too interesting.

Pours a slghtly hazy amber/orange color, topped with a fine frothy white head. Aroma is a mild combonation of caramel, fruits and biscuity notes, as well as some wheat and spices. Taste starts sweet, some wheaty notes and some spices to finish with.

notalush (4992) - Denver, Colorado, USA - DEC 11, 2014
Hazy copper - fizzy pour that leads to a small, short-loved head that completely dissipates - nose of sweet white frosting, light clove, and some faint pepper - fairly frothy texture - flavor is very sweet up front, but is somewhat tempered by a drier spiciness late, a bit of toasty dark wheat character - finish is mildly peppery - it’s okay.

Review based on the BJCP2008 guidelines (style 15A). Bottle 50 cl - Batch L071108. AROMA: faint fruity aroma reminiscent of clove, vanilla and banana mixed with wheat notes. no hop aromas. APPEARANCE: light Orange color and a bit hazy. thin white head with poor retention. TASTE: dilluted wheat flavour with some fruity and vanilla notes. PALATE: medium-low body with low carbonation. OVERALL: a slight more fruity weiss from Erdinger but nothing more.

This beer left me with more questions then answers;it tastes like a regular wheat beer with a spice added, but i do not know what the spice is. It has a slightly higher alcohol content, but drinks like it has a slightly lower alcohol content. Since my wheat beer drinking is not weather affected,i would prefer a regular wheat beer during the holidays.
