ERDINGER Urweisse – in good old Bavarian tradition
A cause for celebration among weissbier fans!
A particularly strong, spicy aroma, a distinctive yeast flavor and an unmistakable top-fermenting beer profile - these are the characteristics of ERDINGER’s new family member in good old Bavarian tradition. The recipe for Urweisse dates back to the brewery’s founding days over 120 years ago. It owes its distinctive, traditional weissbier flavor to a special malt, a different hop variety and a special yeast.
And as appearance is just as important, Urweisse has been given its own special look - which will especially please all friends of the "good old Bavarian tradition". The label features the historic "Beautiful Tower" of Erding. The Euro bottle and original glass awake memories of days gone by. The new crate is also particularly eye-catching with its historic wooden look and "scorched" lettering.
Best is to simply taste it for yourself! ERDINGER Urweisse is available in Bavaria from January 1, 2008 and from February 1 in Baden-Württemberg. Presentation cartons are available in the ERDINGER Fan Shop from January onward.

Pours hazy amber with a fluffy creme head that collapses after a few minutes. Boozy clove nose and perhaps some spiced peel. Thick mouthfeel, spicy cloves peppery finish

The activity in this beer is not to be ignored. Pay attention while pouring. Volatile head jumps out of the glass if you are not careful. Full and earthy wheatness envelopes the mouth. Esthers are not overwhelming, but are tastefully done. Pretty Brussels lace as the glass empties. This goes great with homemade spicy beef jerky.

Bottle. Hazy dark yellow color with a thick white foamy head. Yeasty aroma of ripe banana. Flavors are banana, wheat and lemon. Definitely not bad beer but for a Hefe-Weizen its finish is a bit too watery. Lively carbonation.

Bottle. Amber pour with a tall, foamy white head. Nose is wheat, yeast, banana, light clove and a touch of lemony bitterness. Taste is wheat, banana, light lemon, toasted malt, light spice and yeast notes. Body is light-medium with a strong, effervescent carbonation. Ends with more wheat and grains, toasted malt notes, softer banana, light lemon, soft spice and yeast. Refreshing on a hot summer day!

500ml bottle pours a golden orange color with a small white head that leaves a few specks of lacing on the glass. Aroma is banana and clove with some spicy hops and yeast. Taste is malty sweet with some light fruits and clove with a bit of yeast and spicy hops in the finish. Another great hefe from Germany which is quite tasty.
