3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 laiti (1689) - Tampere, FINLAND - NOV 5, 2011
50 cl bottle @ home, BBE 10/2011
Lots of foam when pouring, but all fits in one glass anyway. Some yeast particles in the glass. Aroma has bubblegum, some banana, wheat and tartness. Flavour is a bit thin, tart and somewhat dry with banana, bubblegum and wheat. A bit too much CO2 on palate. Refreshing and balanced, but a bit thin.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Ibrew2or3 (4985) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - NOV 1, 2011
Classic German style 50cl bottle pours nearly opaque copper / grapefruit / gold with full off white head. The aroma is full of bananas, apples, apricot and peaches as well as a slight saltiness that adds rather than subtracts from the experience. The taste has some grainy malt notes that quickly run into banana, some apricot, pear and a touch of lemon too.
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Cunningham (1942) - Halden, NORWAY - OCT 31, 2011
UPDATED: FEB 12, 2012 Bottle from Vinmonopolet in Halden. Hazy orange colour with a white head. Rich wheat aroma, and light fruity. Rich flavour with wheat, light banana, light citric and some spices
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 EithCubes (3340) - GERMANY - OCT 27, 2011
RB says this is my 100th HW. Bottle by 06-2012. Great nose, heavy wheat and yeast, mineral water, and strong banana/phenol mix. Hazy orange body with a rocky off-white head. Taste somewhat sweet but dries out, a little bread sneaking in after the hard carbonation stings the front. Orange peel and low bitterness, typical HW notes from the nose are way backed off. Medium body made full by the aggressive, airy carb. Wheat aftertaste lasts. Well-made, but not revelatory.
4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 flying_pig (344) - SCOTLAND - OCT 26, 2011
500ml bottle reviewed at home:
A good mix of wheat, a little banana, clove & a faint hint of grainy alcohol but nothing off-putting. There is some citrus & vanilla in the background that round off this rather complex smelling beer quite nicely.
Cloudy orange colour with a large, three fingers sized head that is white & foamy in texture. Retention is good as it slowly reduces to about a fingers width.
The taste has stronger citrus notes to it & a nice amount of wheat, banana & a nice bit of spice as well. Not quite as pleasant as the smell in my opinion but still a great beer to drink.
Medium bodied with high carbonation without seeming overly gassy. The drink is smooth & low on bitter with a good overall feel to it.
A great hefeweizen here & one of the nicest beers I have tried in a while. Very drinkable with a wonderful taste & an even better aroma. Not the most exciting example of the style but a solid & very enjoyable beer.

Well balanced brew and not too sweet.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 LookMomNoHands (580) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - OCT 20, 2011
10 cl. sample from 0,5 l. bottle. Lightly hazy yellow colour with a big, white head, very creamy-foamy. Fruity and yeasty aroma, lightly sweet with a hidden sourness, malts and grapefruits. The taste is quite sour for a hefeweizen but still refreshing, trough. Medium body with a lively carbonation. Dry and short finish.
