ERDINGER Urweisse – in good old Bavarian tradition
A cause for celebration among weissbier fans!
A particularly strong, spicy aroma, a distinctive yeast flavor and an unmistakable top-fermenting beer profile - these are the characteristics of ERDINGER’s new family member in good old Bavarian tradition. The recipe for Urweisse dates back to the brewery’s founding days over 120 years ago. It owes its distinctive, traditional weissbier flavor to a special malt, a different hop variety and a special yeast.
And as appearance is just as important, Urweisse has been given its own special look - which will especially please all friends of the "good old Bavarian tradition". The label features the historic "Beautiful Tower" of Erding. The Euro bottle and original glass awake memories of days gone by. The new crate is also particularly eye-catching with its historic wooden look and "scorched" lettering.
Best is to simply taste it for yourself! ERDINGER Urweisse is available in Bavaria from January 1, 2008 and from February 1 in Baden-Württemberg. Presentation cartons are available in the ERDINGER Fan Shop from January onward.

Bottle. Pours a beautiful hazy amber with very thick, dense and foamy off-white head.Nose has mild pleasant esters of banana bread, vanilla, toffee and fresh milled grain. Flavor is a touch sweeter than most weisse beers, some spice upfront along with caramel flavors - just a note of mediciney flavor as well. Finishes with light hop resins and a touch of alcohol. Best with the residual yeast washed into the beer - my last tastes were after this and brought a lot more richness and spiciness to the flavors already mentioned and knocked this from a 3.5 to a 3.9.

UPDATED: OCT 6, 2014 Promising aroma and appearance but let down by the lack of taste. Not spicy and strong as advertised but not unpleasant at all. Weak on the palate. Drink at room temperature or slightly cooler.

Dentre as trigueiras está certamente é uma das mais leves gostosas de beber em grande quantidade. Clara. Turva. Suave. Muito boa. Melhor que a Paulaner.

Pours a slightly hazy orange color, topped with decent frothy head, just slightly off-white color. Pleasant fruity aroma, some cidery smell can also be picked up. The taste starts sweat and wheaty, followed by some soury notes, coming together to a nice finish. Very drinkable.
