ERDINGER Urweisse – in good old Bavarian tradition
A cause for celebration among weissbier fans!
A particularly strong, spicy aroma, a distinctive yeast flavor and an unmistakable top-fermenting beer profile - these are the characteristics of ERDINGER’s new family member in good old Bavarian tradition. The recipe for Urweisse dates back to the brewery’s founding days over 120 years ago. It owes its distinctive, traditional weissbier flavor to a special malt, a different hop variety and a special yeast.
And as appearance is just as important, Urweisse has been given its own special look - which will especially please all friends of the "good old Bavarian tradition". The label features the historic "Beautiful Tower" of Erding. The Euro bottle and original glass awake memories of days gone by. The new crate is also particularly eye-catching with its historic wooden look and "scorched" lettering.
Best is to simply taste it for yourself! ERDINGER Urweisse is available in Bavaria from January 1, 2008 and from February 1 in Baden-Württemberg. Presentation cartons are available in the ERDINGER Fan Shop from January onward.

500 ml bottle. Pours cloudy golden-orange with an enomous white head. Great smokey wheat aroma. Disappointingly bland wheat taste. Sparkly mildly sour finish.

From Club del Gourmet of El Corte Ingles. In Paulaner glass. Watching Sucker Punch. The aroma is not bad, not one of the best for its style but neither one of the worst. However, it has a bit of rancid touch in the taste

Aroma: cloves, some banana, a little wheat. Appearance: orange, cloudy, with a huge and fairly stable head. Taste: sweet, a little sour; not much of a balance. Palate: body medium; carbonation lively; mouth feel moderately foamy; finish sweet; quite spicy throughout. Overall: it is good. It?s just that somehow, I?m not enjoying it as much as I should be in theory. It?s a bit like the spice and the sweet, blunt base were from two separate taps and never had the time to combine.

Sima Erdinger átcímkézve. Tök jó hogy más alakú az üveg, meg hangzatos a név, de...

Large, frothy, off white, mostly diminishing head, fair lacing. Murky, medium amber body. Moderate malty aroma with notes of bread, cookie, hay and caramel. Light hoppy aroma with notes of grass. Heavy yeasty aroma with notes of dough and sweat. Notes of banana, toffee, butterscotch, honey, vanilla and hint of nutmeg. Heavy sweet, light bitter and light acidic initial flavor. Short moderate sweet finish. Medium body, oily texture, lively carbonation.
